I love that Bob introduced himself. I know it’s just basic manners, but it’s a really lovely gesture for a famous person to make.

In my first proper job as a teenager, we went back to the office at the end of the day. Every pay day, I crossed the street to the record shop and never came out with less than 2 albums. I still remember how good it felt almost 50 years later, flicking through the albums and getting the owner to play a few tracks. 😊

Not allowing myself to buy any more records since 2002, (I have thousands and my loft is near collapse)......;) I still love going in a record store just to "dig the crates" and remember how great it was to actually own your music. Love Amazon music though and I ripped MP3s of most of my vinyl. It is a digital age but great to know record stores will still remain, thanks to enthusiastic owners like this guy....................;)

I hope Steve does really well in his record shop. What a great attitude to life he has. I still use my record player and buy new (to me ) vinyl. I love the fact that like fishing it slows you down. You have to take time to select the record, take it out of the sleeve, put it onto the turntable, give it a clean then move the stylus across, admire the artwork and enjoy the music until its time to turn over for side B. The Reeves and Mortimer isn't in my collection yet, I shall keep an eye out for a copy!

i'm one of those creeps, i got a little brush to clean the needle and a felt roller on a little arm that cleans the record as it plays. And Bob, i'm afraid that my favourite cover of 'i'm a believer' is by another Bob; Robert Wyatt, but your's and Jim's version is good too! Buying an album was an event, as the lads say 'flicking through' to find the one, getting it home, opening it and devouring all the information, who played what, then who wrote what, who was a guest musician etc. then playing it..... over and over aahhh memories. And yes I WAS a creep that handled them carefully 😎

Oh wow...I could load myself up with some vinyl there. And I've got a stereo system I've never unboxed because of moving etc. Well that's my poor excuse.
