I’ve loved this story for a while, even bought and read the book (which is really heartwarming and a good read). We don’t deserve dogs, they are the purest creatures. To us they are just a part of our life, but to them, we are their entire life. And they bring us so much more than could be described in words.

I heard about this story in 2016 and had lost my two cats due to valley fever. I also had a rough time in my childhood. At 60 years years old. And dealing with anxiety and depression .I just loved this story. The meaning of unconditional love. So I went to several shelters and got.my new best friend. And by the way I named him Gobi as well. You know what I noticed? Gobi isn’t shoved in a cage and the door locked where she is left all night by herself. NO MORE PUTTING DOGS IN CAGES AND LEAVING THEM OVERNIGHT! Love Gobi! Love this couple who saved her and gave her a home! ❤️

What an amazing story! I kept wondering what Gobi was doing in the middle of the desert ...how did she get there and how long was she there??? It is often when we do something totally out of pure love and at some risk to our well being in whatever way, that it becomes a life changing experience. You went above and beyond to fly back to China and search for her, then to spend 4 months there with her. Truly awesome and your wife as well. You may have inspired me a s well because I need walk and I do not like walking as an exercise. So I was shocked to hear that you hated running ! Sending best wishes to you! From Cape Cod.
