If you get the chance to come down to Cornwall again you should visit Bude - there is a great sea pool there and, being in the west, you get terrific sunsets. Check the tide though as it’s not so good if the tide is out. You want mid to high tide. Actually it’s not far from Heartland Quay. So just over the boarder of Cornwall

Very nice work indeed, Gary. The woman in her blue costume and yellow cap at 10:30 would make a wonderful surreal composite, with her permission of course. Using normal exposure for her, I was visualising a back shot of her looking at the pool ready to swim. Or perhaps she is swimming across the frame. Several compositions. The long colour exposure blended with her would make a compelling image. Her outfit colours would be a wonderful and sharp contrast, especially the yellow cap. It would still rate as fine art and give a lovely vibrant context to the shots I think. "Swimming into the mist!" Inspiring work and I shared your "like a kid in a candy shop" excitement on arrival. Cheers.

Another great spot: the Sea Point Pools in Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦 are one of the most scenic public swimming pools on the globe. Facing west directly across the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, it affords the photographer with amazing golden sunsets, bird life and also dolphins, whales, orcas or shipping shifting past in front of the setting sun. Often an excellent spot for green flash photography. Add to this the beauty of Lions Head, Signal Hill and especially Table Mountain, and your lens is in paradise. #lovecapetown

Excellent video making the most of the extra high tide and coping with the wet conditions. I know the location well and thankfully one of the swimmers came out of the hut and dived in retrieving my partners Nikon Z6 on the tripod that was on the bottom of the sea bed after she kneed it in the sea by mistake. Tripod and memory card were ok so she recovered the couple of shots she took. Never been back since. Apparently the pool is going to be renovated so there may be nice new painted railings by next year. Did you go to the harbour and find the tidal bell?

Maybe im wrong 🤔 I do believe " absence of swimmers" is primary due to the pool being unsafe for bathing while the tide has overwhelmed the confinement wall .. ( There being a serious risk of being swiped out, or pinned against the wall / railings / in a whirlpool etc ) 🧐
