I remember back in the early 90s watching this show on my satellite dish. Those were the best times of my life. I loved the Buzzard and Tom. My favorite show of all time.

George talked me into buying a gpaa life membership back in the 80's at a gold show in Richland , Wa. I didn't have enough money so he knocked the price in half I am still prospecting and I think of The Buzzard often when out with my head in a hole digging dirt

I miss him. So I know you must really miss him. I saw his first show that was televised on my satellite dish outdoor network I think it was 89. I watched every week bought and made equipment. I jioned the GPAA in 93. But my situation was such that I never got out much.

@@jayfox4086 I remember in 2000 it fell to $270 and change an ounce. I go out twice a month, spend 3-4 hours on a Saturday and pull in 300-600 in gold and stones (todays prices) most of the time. Been doing it for 16 years and within an 80 mile radius.

One of the best points he makes is to use just enough water to move the material. You see sooo many folks mining on the beach with their water rates too high for the fine gold they're trying to get...

Looks good. fine flat gold is hard to catch I have mined the flour gold of the North Saskatchewan river and riffles are not the best for catching it kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3nIZmehrr6na5Y this sluice is patterned off of James Gibbons 1800s grizzly and uses a old wool blanketed tray on a 24 degree angle to catch the lions share of the flour gold . My first sluice was an exact replica of it 95+% recovery rate . water flow and 1/4" classification of material is very important . I've had as much as 3grams of gold in my blanket tray. You can gravel shovel steady into the boiler box and almost never have clean off gravel on the curved classifying screen which uses an ever increasing angle of repose to work well

Sounds like a good day gets 1 1/2 - 3 oz. a day after a storm. The question we both would like to know is what about an average day without a storm? Half? Like 3/4 oz. a day? At today's prices that's $2,100 every other day. At a half oz a day 80% spot price is $700 a day. The trick is to have 3 sluices constantly running for 16hrs a day. Stockpile paydirt after the storm. And live in a camper for 4 months. Boom....$100k I just need the $25k start-up
