I agree, the Death Klutch is best and simplest to set gopher trap there is. I did not know about your tuneup tip, thanks and just in time for trapping season. May all your traps contain a catch every morning.

Well, first of all, I spent hundreds of dollars on various traps to rid my property of destructive pocket gophers. I felt like Bill Murray in Cadyshack! Then all changed with the DK1. I was o-fer with the other gopher (yes, it rhymes) traps. The DK1 works very well. However, I've seen the issue you are describing and plan to modify my traps. Thanks for the advice.

I have another issue that you might be able to comment on. If when you place the trap into the burrow and the ground is at such an angle as to cause the jaws to lift slightly. The gopher approaches the trap and because it is lifted, the gopher backs off.Sometimes I will place a dirt claud underneath the handle to level the trap, but is there a way to level it another way?

I always place the stake at the closed end of the eye ,with the stake leaning back toward yourself, before pushing the stake in, I will lift the eye some, then when letting the trap down to level, the closed end of the eye will kind of rest on the stake, if it slides down the stake, forward, then your set hole is to big. The jaws of the trap should be right out in the dirt

I have tried these also, My issue with them is having no handle to stake them down. The only thing that should move on a trap is the trigger

You would have a better video if you would stop saying aaaaah between every few words.
