I appreciate your real world loads with Varget, I cannot find Varget anywhere, when I do I will use it. THANKS!

Varget is indeed hard to come by, but there are lots of good powders for .308!

Keep watching the Hodgdon website, they had some a month ago. Midway had 8Lb kegs about a month ago as well. Short of those, I haven't seen it in 3 years.

I actually went to Hodgdon's site and also took into consideration their charge recommendations. They list 46 gr. as Max. I have pursued this number in my .308 load building watching for pressure signs and in my Bergara Timber and Remington 700 I found that 45.6 gr. was a high end accuracy node and I am using this measurement with a 165 gr. bullet and an average 2754 fps. out of a 22" barrel for my Elk hunt. The online reloading forums agree that Hornady tends to be very conservative in their recommendations. Great video! Thanks for putting in the time.

You may have said, but I didn’t catch it if you did. What’s the yardage on these shots. I’m chasing a accuracy problem with my .308 American ruger and I’m trying to narrow it down to something. I can shoot my 30-06 all day with groups within 1in at 100yrds. So that takes human error out of the equation, I guess. I’m even waiting on scope rings to come in the mail.

These groups were at 75 yards, before I had access to a 100 yard range. I'd try a few different type of bullets first. If none give you the kind of accuracy you're looking for, you may have to go for a stock swap and/or bed the stock. What sort of groups are you getting now?

Well, I was getting pretty spot on accuracy with this gun until I sent it back to ruger because the bolt would get stuck. I got it back and now this gun shoots all around where I’m aiming 3-4 inches from center at 100yrds. If I weren’t going to be hunting where shots would be up to 300yrds then I would deal with it. No grouping at all and that’s even in a lead sled. I’ve tried several different types of ammo and loads with the same results. I have a Nikon scope on it, buuuuut, have cheap Walmart rings. I’m waiting on some Leupold rings and just purchased some Hornady 165gr BTSP interlock to try. If I find that it’s the gun/stock then ruger will be dealing with that. I hope or 30-06 is my new best friend.

Vanilla Gorilla no idea! I know my other .308 loads will though, as I’ve put some through an AR-10

I tested some 150gr SST and SP bullets last weekend via my 308 AR-10, using 44.5gr of Varget I shot 20 rounds with no issues at all (I have a can on it, have not shot it without the can)
