For daily use just get a extension reel. Another way to wind up cords is one turn left and one turn right. Thus you avoid the cord twisting. Its like a folded figure "8".

You could already see the internal wire is twisted and deformed inside the insulation. This will reduce the life of the cable and decrease the current capacity over time.

I'm sure you're right, but I'm a 68 year old musician who's been handling cables of all types for 50+ years and despite the occasional dire warning like this, I have never seen a cable fail anywhere but at the stress points on the plug ends. Just saying.

I know an electrical contractor that has been doing this for 30 years and hasn't had even one cord go bad from using this method.
