I love that you demonstrated these techniques on a flower, an actual object. Not just a square or sphere... I am a bloody beginner and seeing these differences is HUGELY helpful 🙏👍

This may seem silly, but as someone who hasn’t tried to paint with watercolors since I was 14 in art class in school, this was magical. Such a perfect way to easily showcase simple techniques with such lovely results. I bought my first watercolor set in 31 years after watching this. Thank you for encouraging my inner child to play.

I like that you did the same flower for each example so we can really compare the style of each technique. My favorite is the glazing because it reminds me of stained glass and is the technique that made me fall in love with watercolor in the first place.

I’ve been working with watercolor for a few years now, but this demonstration has been the most helpful, truly. Somehow, seeing the same flower done differently really helped to clarify how the various methods could be used to one’s advantage. Thank you for sharing your knowledge…and humor. 😉

THIS!!!! WHY DID NOBODY EXPLAIN ME ANY OF THIS BEFORE??? This is exactly the reason why i think watercoloring is one of the hardest mediums for art 😭

He’s so relaxing to listen to I could watch this man while trying to sleep. Also the fact that he made a mistake with the dragging technique and kept it in the video, showing that there is no such thing as perfection, and that you can always start again.

Great video, I tried watching other watercolor channels and they just kept preaching about letting the intrinsic beauty take over and that you can't control water color. Obviously it's a hard medium but there are techniques like what you showed that have really helped me understand how to take my painting to the next level. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for making this video, I have wanted to practice watercolors so long and all my paints have failed. I blamed myself for many years (I know there are books about it but I find it hard to understand trough just reading text), so it turns out I've not understood the importance of hot & cold pressed papers and importance of different brushes, yet the amount of water needed to reach the wanted result!
