One of the things I struggle with is finding the fish I winter. Fish a small lake with no feeder creeks or structure. As a bank fisherman I’ve recently discover the Chirp Pro, little pool ball sized sonar you cast and real and it feeds sonar info to my smartphone. Really made a big difference in finding the fish in winter, knowing how deep they are, etc. You guys ever considered making a video on technology that can help a bank fisherman, like that? Would be great to see.
@fishing4happiness6102 жыл бұрын
Deeper Chirp Pro is definitely a game changer for bank fisherman. If people value their time on the water... they'd have a Deeper in their Christmas list because there is nothing worse than throwing to empty water.
@562handsomemike2 жыл бұрын
I just bought the Chirp 2, I can’t wait to start mapping my favorite bank fishing spots. If y’all do make a video, please consider talking about the different setting on the castable sonars. 🤝👍

Mine had battery issues within the first 18 months. The company told me I would have to pay to ship and repair it in Europe basically equaling the cost of a new one. This is a disposable item. Many people have had similar battery problems.
@fishing4happiness6102 жыл бұрын
@@imjustheretogrill4794 ... I'm sorry to hear that. I've had the Deeper Pro Plus for 4 years and gave that to a buddy when I got the Deeper Chirp which I've had for 2 years and no issues. I've not heard of known battery issues, but it's unfortunate shipping would cost you the same as a new unit.

@tagg9462 жыл бұрын
@@heavyhooksets6671 eh, the blade is still a pure reaction bait, it is finessey, but it its still a violent, thumping, flashy bait, just like a lipless crankbait. Sometimes they just wont react, sometimes its dependent on the body of water. There are ponds and bodies of water around where i live where the fish just bite on different styles of fishing between each one. One pond or lake, the fish seem to react, no matter the time of year, others, they only eat jigs and tubes, or soft plastics in the winter. Just how it works. Bass are weird, and smart. I would honestly just start fishing new places, until you find somewhere or a new pond/lake, where the fish will consistently eat a crankbait or true reaction bait.

@proteusxavier94772 жыл бұрын
Those soft baits are key. Some plastics tend to stiffen up in the cold water so it's nice to have some play either way. Up here in Canada, we even have this habit of shaving plastic off of the last 1-2" of the tail with a box cutter so it's nice and thin, similar to a crappie bait. The cold water stiffens up the butt and dead-sticking gives it just the right amount of action. No shaking allowed! Brilliant for smallies.

I like weighted slip bobbers, so you can cast the bait farther in clearer water. I also use them for super subtle bites ice fishing where the slightest bit of weight will take the bobber down so you don't miss the bite.

You guys are the best for instructional videos. I have learned so much watching your videos, especially using the blade baits. I live in Texas and been slaying them with the blade baits y'all recommended to get for winter. I hardly see other fishermen using blade baits where I fish at up here in Dallas and Fort Worth area. Your drop-shot videos are very instructional to been killing them with those also. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I came across the slip bobber and the threaded stopper last year while on KZbin looking to get ready for this season to do some pan fish fishing. I have a 5' light Spinning combo with 4lb braid and I can cast it out and go down to 8' without the extra drama of the long line to my bobber...It's great!

No electronics and mostly stuck on the bank. Any suggestions on how we can keep finding fish in these cold months when fish move deep and bunch up...? It's like I need a search bait to find them, but most all the searching is too fast or too much action. If I slow down, I may never get to the area of the pond or lake where the fish are... or maybe I can't even get to those areas because they are deep and require boat access or electronics to find...
@richardbossman98752 жыл бұрын
If you know the pond well enough try narrowing down your search to hard bottoms especially rock in deeper water. Anywhere you have ledges or drop offs close to shore can be a big plus too. I’m shorebiund myself and one tool I’ve used is google earth to look for deeper cuts and or humps or other interesting structure. A jig is a great way to not only fish but help you find key structures and cover. Be throughout because once you find the right areas those will be used year after year.
