Same situation with me. I didn't know there was someone on Earth called "The Merchant of Death" thanks to Britney Griner. How is this organization not terminating this Coach? Her decision costs the WNBA revenue from her inept decisions. Where are the business partners in this stagnant franchise? Any Corporation would have terminated her.

Leaving Caitlin Clark off the Olympic Team was a missed historical opportunity that will never happen again. Just think of all the little kids chucking up logo threes on playgrounds all over the world, who are disappointed. No wonder the WNBA has been in the dumps so long. But Clark will likely be around a long time so maybe they will get out of it.

The W(WE)NBA needs a new Commissioner! Someone who will take charge of the league. A true Commissioner would know that having Caitlin on the team would be in the best interest of the W(WE)NBA and would’ve gotten her on the Olympic team somehow. Putting Caitlin on Team USA was not about her play. The women's Olympic basketball team has won 7 gold medals in a row and I could "give 2 shits" about that. How about 1 shit? Nope, not even 1 shit about the 7 straight gold medals. I've watched women's soccer in the Olympics and nothing else on the women's side in the past. I would've been glued to the TV and also taped the games if Caitlin was on the Olympic team. I am NOT watching the women’s Olympic basketball team. I hope the women’s Olympic team loses.

Ratings? Tickets sold? That's the argument? The Olympics is the only time that WNBA players are playing at the same time as the NBA players. How popular do you think this kid is? Is she more popular than LeBron James? Now factor in all the other sports. How much of a difference could Clark have made?
@JonMcBride-p8f2 ай бұрын
That is such a small part of the argument... it is obvious you have totally missed the conversation. Virtually everyone that is anyone in the sports world is talking about the difference CC would have made. Crawl out from under your rock and lose the bias.
@TokyoAlex2 ай бұрын
@@JonMcBride-p8f Oh. I have heard the everyones and the anyones that you speak of. I disagree with all of them. You will never know what difference CC WOULD have made because she didn't make the team. I think that is a good thing because she needs the rest. But you, feel free to speculate. Imagine her on the team in Paris if you like. Imagine the surge in ratings if you like. Imagine women's basketball drawing more than men's basketball. Anyway, I'm looking forward to her coming back after a much-needed and well-deserved break. She will be mentally and physically refreshed. She will tear up the league with both 3 pointers and assists. Just between you and my rock and my bias, those sports pundits will say that her improved play will justify their outrage over the snub. They will imply that she could have traveled to Europe and played in an international tournament with new teammates and still returned to tear up the league. Feel free to listen to them.

Not having Clark on the Olympics women's basketball team shows how much their team doesn't care about Americans or its citizens. To have such a great athlete in their sport and role model for athletes because of prejudice is shameful for any American team. Shame on them. They should apologize to America and Clark. I know most Americans are not watching the team this Olympics because of their shame they put upon our country.

Taurasi is an embarrassment, and Jennifer Rizzotti, Cheryl "I don't give two shits" Reeve, and Cathy Engelbert are all embarrassments. 42 year old Taurasi was clearly too old to be on the Team given how much better the competition had become over the years, and everyone on the selection committees knew it. Taurasi is a double embarrassment because she knew she wasn't up to the task and conveniently became "injured" just before the start of the games. Injured or not, she wasn't going to, and did not withdraw from the Olympic Team because she wanted that sixth Gold Medal to have one more than Sue Bird who, like Taurasi, had 5 Gold Medals. From start to finish Rizzotti, Reeve and Engelbert were out to sabotage Caitlin Clark by stacking the first five WNBA Fever games with the best teams, lousy referring, and only a one day break between games. Rizzotti, Reeve, Engelbert and their co-operating cohorts did everything they could to justify keeping Caitlin Clark off the Olympic Team and Taurasi on the Olympic Team. That will be their role in basketball history. They will fittingly be nobodies.

She’s the greatest scorer to ever come out of college. Yet multiple rookies before her made the USA squad. No women has ever played like her. Her playmaking is way more beautiful than Sue could ever be. Her effect on a game is incomparable. Angel isn’t in the same league as Caitlin. She’s evolved women’s ball. After she gets a few more reps in and builds strength, it’s over.

I didn't sense a lack of enthusiasm and excitement in the Women's Gold Medal Game vs France without Caitlan Clark. Main reason being the international women's game doesn't need "growing". Internationally women's basketball is treated with a lot more like a pro sport with players being paid as such than it is in America. That's why WNBA players still play internationally, both for the money and that they fell in love with their international teams and its fans. Caitlan Clark isn't needed to bring in casual international fans, they're already there. So the focus for Team USA Women is continuing their dominance & today American Women's basketball became the most dominant team in Olympic history winning their 8th straight gold medal. It's about winning, not tv ratings and attendance, this isn't WWE you a$$clowns. Caitlan will be on the 2028 team along with all the other star rookies who have helped grow American women's basketball who also got snubbed by not being selected except you don't hear any whining for them like there is from you Bleeding heart Caitlan White Knights🤣
