One of her best short stories . Nerve wracking and ingenious. Daphne 's output was rather variable towards the end but at her best she was terrific. As here .!

Pretty much, she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when she wrote the collection of short stories that this one appears in. She said that writing this book helped to prevent her having a breakdown, so I guess it was therapeutic somehow.
