Thanks for the answer! I'm Brendan from Question #1. About the chopping, yes, it's plywood over the kitchen counter. Usually it's a 12x20 planing stop / bench hook that's clamped on so it can't slide around.

You can buy a 24" rule for a 12" starret. It's so nice. My dad bought me one and I use it constantly.

Great podcast! Question: Is "2-by" SYP strong enough for a 24 1/8" moxon vise? I have enough leftovers from my bench build to make a vise.

I normally listen to the STL pods but I had to come and see the video just for that 24 " Starrett square. I also feel like there needs to be some kind of Instagram hashtag where people post pictures of all of their squares in one place.

If you want to grind on something flat the 80 grit CBN lapping plate from wood turners wonders is great!!! 10” x 4” for about $100. Bigger coarser and cheaper than a XXCourse diamond plate. I have no deal with Ken at WTW, just a happy customer.
