In ALL of other videos the instructor think people are more advanced than they are. They assume watchers can use your fret hand like they can. They ALWAYS use their pinky when doing the spider walk. It much easier to do it with 3 fingers. Thanks for taking baby steps wit us. You have a lot of patience with us. Thank you for make it easier for me!

Lauren I'm very glad I found this. I've been learning guitar since July, but mostly focusing on chord shapes. Recently I wanted to learn or memorize scales, but I realized I couldn't really play them beyond a certain speed. And that word "dexterity" escaped me entirely, but I'm glad it came back because these lessons look like exactly what I need to play at a more reasonable speed beyond a snail's pace lol

Lauren how can I improve in my notes, I continue looking at my fingers on the guitar and it takes away the tempo and ritmo
@LaurenBateman4 жыл бұрын
Always focus on one hand at a time. In the beginning, if you focus on rhythm, focus only on rhythm. Even if the notes sounds like crap. Then, focus on making the notes sound better. For this exercise, focus on the picking hand first. Watch that hand, then try and take your eyes off it. Keep working at it. Then, you can focus on the fretting hand and do the same.

i am really struggling with this exercise, i've been doing it awhile and can't seem to pick up speed and feel i never will. i am really surprised because i type like 90 words per minute, yes it took me 4 years, but i just wonder i'm old now, lol, and think maybe i won't ever get good at this exercise. i've been playing 1.5 years now and can do so many things i never thought i would, even barre chords now! but this exercise can't pick up speed the way you do it. the dexterity and finger width is so much better but the speed, slow as molasses....is it just not my thing? i decided i would practice this once a day up and down the neck.
@LaurenBateman3 жыл бұрын
Are you using a Metronome? Also, are you going for perfection? Perfection and speed don't go well together in the beginning. You have to train for speed. A metronome will help you push yourself more.
