After following Shauna’s warm up routine, I felt I had a good full blown workout. I see the difference between me and the best climber in the world now lol. Much thanks for the great content Shauna, pls keep them coming 💕

Pull ups "as high as your ceiling allows" is so accurate for me right now. The fingerboard in my garage only allows me to pull until my head hits the roof. Better than nothing I suppose!

Loving the videos so far. I'd like to say that seeing world cup videos of you got me into climbing and got me to start last year and I'm loving it! Love making progress and love just being on the wall! I appreciate you making these videos as well now to tide me over until I can get back on the wall :)

I was suppose to but a fingerboard but I was like „what’s the point of that, I have like 3-4 climbing gyms in my area... Now when all climbing walls are closed It would be nice to have one. I have to order It. 🤦🏼♂️ Really nice video ;-) can’t wait to see more. I’d like to see you cooking, maybe some recipes and stuff. Some hanging out with your, your ordinary day.

I like your videos so far, they are very informative. But sometimes its hard for me as a not native speaker to follow your words as the music is a bit too loud.

Great to see you on youtube so exciting! Only thing I would say is to consider getting a mic or think about how you are recording sound as there's quite a bit of the room echo audible which makes things a bit harder to listen to.

Maybe considering a micsetup? Would be nice to have a clear voice so that its easier to understand, btw watching with iphone speakers and the music was a little bit to loud. The content was super nice to watch,as always!
@elias63334 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the content. just a tiny hint. the music is quiet loud in comparison to your voice and everthing u say sounds a bit muffled. And in adition u have the tendecy to talk fast. which is probably fine for a native speaker. but for me all that colletivly makes it hard to understand u sometimes. maybe u want to get another mic and lower the volume of the music :)

Can you help me figure out the best way to get the most out of my beastmaker 2000... I couldn’t get hold of a 1000 that I’m used to (they’re like gold dust now!) I miss the jugs! I’m using a pull up bar to do my pull ups and following some workouts from beastmaker as best I can on my 2000... any ideas welcome... otherwise I’ll just carry on hanging around! 😁
@coachgarryclimbing4 жыл бұрын
How've you been getting on with the 2000? Perhaps have one foot supported on a chair can change the angle of your body, simulate steep wall core/posture and take some weight off the fingers.
@leosophwelton78344 жыл бұрын
@@coachgarryclimbing Thanks - I'll try that. I have added a couple of bits of wood to my door frame so I can put a toe on those when I'm trying to use the smaller holds or just move around the board. I've been trying to mix it up a bit - because I'm limited and tend to repeat the same couple of routines, I've found I have to be really disciplined on making sure I warm up and down well as tennis elbow is starting to rear it's annoying head again! Any exercises or stretches to help that would be much appreciated! Stay well x

Nice video! I really like to use the theraband for warmup. After I saw a video of you on the Team GB channel about warm up, I started integrating it into my warm up routine. I am currently working on a little video about the Louis Parkinson training plan and was looking for good additional references, will include this one for sure ;) One quick question though. In the ellbow exercise you are doing in 03:14 on, you don't need to keep the ellbow completely pressed against the body but it is ok if there is a small "gap"? Just asking as I am interested and I was always wondering about this when I was doing that exercise :D Happy easter to you, looking forward to your next videos.

Is this supposed to be public already? Not complaining, just wondered if this Episode is supposed to be released next Friday? 🤔 Cool video, though fingerboarding is not for me yet, since I basically just started climbing and my joints and tendons definitely won't be up for this kind of extreme work for quite some time.
@ShaunaCoxseyClimber4 жыл бұрын
Yep, I meant it but thanks for checking! Great that you just got into climbing and a beastmaker 1000 is perfect for slowly building up your finger strength. Just take it easy and don't go trying one arm lockoffs on the first session 😉!
@Konsul1354 жыл бұрын
@@ShaunaCoxseyClimber Ah, I see 👌 I might just get a 1000 then. A lot of trainers say that beginners shouldn't fingerboard though. What are your thoughts on that?
@ShaunaCoxseyClimber4 жыл бұрын
As a beginner I’d say it would usually be best just to climb, and build up strength that way. However while we’re in lockdown, climbing may not be an option for a lot of people, so some fingerboarding could be a good option to keep the fingers and arms ticking over. You can easily adjust the intensity to suit your ability especially on the 1000 as you can use the jugs or big slots, fingerboarding doesn’t all have to be desperate!
@Konsul1354 жыл бұрын

Perfect Shauna! Exactly what we need to keep the psyche and strength during lock down (ok I confess in my case to get my butt off the couch and into climbing again, been getting fat and lazy! - Gotta make lockdown a 'positive' somehow!). One small criticism, the volume of your commentary went up and down a lot (sounded like the mike was next to the wall) making it difficult to hear everything. Minor niggle, cool vid otherwise, looking forward to more.

Since I am training home just since a few weeks, I am busy with creating a routine in warm-ups and stuff, for fingerboarding mostly. This video is very clear, and also difficult to recap in short, since there is a lot of time in between the warmup exercises. I would love to see a short recap of everything mentioned in the video, so it's easy to watch again, but while I am doing the actual warming-up myself. It's very nice to see a climber like you making vids :D
