Great finish, but you do not need to use Topcast to have a sand wash. The cheapest and best way to achieve a sand wash finish is to use Soda mixed with Brown Sugar (ZERO CHEMICALS) - apply at same time as you did the top cast and wait a hour or two (depending on climate/weather in your area on the day) and then simply wash off with a hose and a stiff broom or you can use a powerwasher too - depends how far you let the surface dry before washing it off as to how much effort is required. This method you finish the job the day you pour - not come back the next day to expose the sand finish. There are plenty of videos online showing ho this is done, especially from Australia.

The jackass neighbor is more than likely that way with everyone. No one can make noise, improve their property except him. If it were him doing the revamp, he would have no problem with any and all noise. So, I believe your remakes to him were spot on. When I worked construction in the 70s to 2000, we would have sent him packing the very first day. If he did not get the message, we would have parked every piece of equipment in front of his house, turned on the radio, etc.

Usually in here in NZ when construction work is done in residential areas the owner and Construction Company would give Neighbours warning of disruption and noise beforehand work starts by knocking on doors with a letter to sign just in case someone is medically dependent and needs to be warned beforehand out of courtesy, and respect, to avoid any conflicts, even though you don't have to under law, listening to this Neighbour, seems none of this happened, to avoid any conflicts, this approach would seem advisable, the Neighbour has the right to be angry, he is clueless about concreting and should have been informed, Hey Disgruntled Neighbour, Dude put on a pair of earmuffs, WHY IS HE THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING, and respect for trying to make amends.

Thank you for sharing the video and great work! Just a friendly suggestion, you might want to swap to a chest harness for your GoPro for certain video segments, instead of one on your head, since you scan the work often from side to side, while you fast forward the video when editing to keep it a manageable length and not bore us too much. It was very noticeable when you were watching them finish cutting the lines and you sprayed the concrete with the white solution. It gets a bit dizzying and makes it hard to watch imho. Cheers!

QUESTION: Do you think it could’ve helped if you told the neighbor at the beginning that it’s going to be a 4-5 day job? With guys like that I don’t think you can win, but it might’ve taken the temperature down a couple of degrees. Most people can withstand more if they are told up front what is going to happen and then it happens like that.
