I had the 1st FTX outback and it was superb, I even got the motor so hot it sizzled after I used a 2200mah lipo (2S it was the extra time) I cooled it down under the cold tap as it was melting the plastic around it then let it dry, a year later sold it still fully functional. I did replace the steering servo that failed (non heat related).

Didn't really get 'crawling', but the excellent video and course when shown with other cars looked great. By the way, if the nyloc nuts weren't in the retainer nylon on the stub axles you can actually reverse the nut so the nylon bites first. Not a long term fix but gets you out of a spot ! Best to 'pre-thread' the nylon insert on a bolt of same size first as easier then to start the threading on process. Keep up the great content please. Cheers

I have 5 FTX cars (2 Zorro's, Mauler, Vantage, Outback Mini 2), and they're all great. Yes, they might not be the strongest, but they're cheap to fix. The Mauler, like the Paso, is great straight from the box, and with a few careful mods, makes it perform like a car much more expensive. My TRX4 keeps shedding wheels, just like that. I've switched to the long sleeve nuts, with a dab of thread lock, or PTFE tape, to stop it backing out. The PTFE works really well. 👍🏻 I've been looking for a second hand RGT EX86110, but having no luck. The duty is daft, trying to order one from China now, with the increased delivery costs. I might look for one of these instead. 👍🏻

I think this is a great video and demonstrates the qualities of the truck, As in all r/c car events tires make a huge difference. The servo really helped. Would youadvise a change in wheel nuts before going out? How was the course created? It appeared that some areas had been wet and dried up. It looked like a lot fun. Thanks for sharing.
@TomleyRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes, needs different wheel nuts as the e offset of the new wheels made the stock wheel nuts a little short on the nylon. The place is a 4x4 off-road place, so it’s all the tracks made by them. There were specific areas for the competitions
@michaeldorich44852 жыл бұрын

@TomleyRC2 жыл бұрын
The Danchee is a good all rounder, but this thing is a little nicer performing and more ‘scale’
@anthonytuccillo62742 жыл бұрын
Way different rigs, one is a rock crawler and the other is a scaler/trail truck. The FTX/RGT will crawl rocks but not as capable due to not having the same level of articulation. Overall if you just want something that can do a bit of everything I would say the one in this video is a good choice, I have one and for the money it cannot be beat. The only other rigs that are better than this are ones costing hundreds more. And even then it's not that big of a difference IMO. The Danshee is ok for the price but no parts support really and the quality isn't as good.
