CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a KZbin channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

I didn't realize the 4.5 horsepower was in the title, but nice to see your neighbor farming. I visited the old iron works up north. Closed and its a musuem, but the made iron and farm tools. So one thing they made was a single blade plow. Prior to that farmers used a wooden plow that would last a day, now they had a plow that would last a season!

Hey Ryan!! Glad the planting is all done, now onto hay season. Was wondering how the lights looked in your area. We have a lot of light pollution from Des Moines. Made it a little difficult.

Hi from oz ryan. Get that first cut NOW before first heads come out. With 24 hour wiltdown to 55% will make exquisite silage so wont need to.feed as many bales over winter(about 20% less bales) then after you have enough then make hay that can be sold

We will take the rain you don’t want. We’ve had .07” (7 tenths) of an inch this year in southern New Mexico. We’ve had to pump for two months. The irrigation district is just now releasing water for farmers but it won’t get us through the year. We’ll be pumping again. The aquifers are getting in bad shape.

Hi Ryan, Edison Motors utube startup sells a ev conversion kit for all trucks. Big red or future brother get a new cat 6 cylinder diesel generator engine that charge 350kw of battery, running electric axels that generate power going down hill braking. Saves 50% fuel and maintenance. Your age log truck drivers built there own trucks waiting on a Tesla semi. Big red becomes a mobile emergency power plant, runs silent in the city during deliveries and parades. Also would train u or Travis to do the 4 week install in BC Canada. Buy a shotvout engine, transmission old truck for peanuts with good bones and build a like new ev hybrid. They also are solar experts to coach Travis on materials for roof mount installs with battery backup. 3 kw per mile. USA availability 2025. It's the perfect retrofit for old trucks that won't be road legal soon. Cat dot certified generator engine handles the co2 bs. About as good as buying the JCB with attachments. If your hauling downhill, even more savings. Would bring a bunch of traction to all 3 channels. Log truck savings in Canada, $10,000.00 a month. Payback on new truck, 4 years before any green rebates.
