Sorry guys to bring down the mood, but my grandfather that was a farmer passed away a few weeks ago. He was like another dad to me. We hadn't gotten the crop in. This is hurting to watch this video. I love you all, and if you are a farmer, then get a good crop this year. I am praying for you.

My grandpa had a John Deere 9400 combine and he ran a 320 acre farm and it did a fantastic job for his farm, I ran it a few times but I would recommend it 100%. He also had a 8110 so it's kinda cool to me to see some of equipment that he used to have in action.

I’m sure there are some farmers cringing as they watch your first planting but, I would be willing to bet they also understand how much of a challenge you’re facing with new/old equipment and no generational knowledge to help along the way. Even if your first season doesn’t turn out well, you’re putting in tons of effort and learning as you go. The growth you’re going to see in your own abilities next year is going to outshine anything on the farm. Keep chugging Grant, you’re doing great!

My step-Dad was a good farmer and he never skipped planting a wet spot in the field. He would always have me go plant them all after they dried up because they sometimes produce the best yields even though they're planted later.

Hey grant, tip, carry a milk jug, and cut a L shape cut to make a scoop on the bottom, when you run out of seed on one row unit and only have a little bit left to plant, hop out, grab your jug, and take a row unit that has some beans left, scoop those out, and put em in the other row unit, idk if it would work as good with your more accurate seed population though

👍🏻👍🏻 if you can find someone to rent a roller from or have someone custom roll your beans that would be good for anything that didn’t make it in. Also beans like the compaction after being planted so it should benefit them
