A thought for the guest room bed. Putting it into a murphy bed would free up space in the center of the room. Also, why can’t the changing station be in the guest room half of the room, instead of that vanity? When you have a guest, it would make more sense to give the guest your room, and you and Romeo sleep in room with the baby. Just my observations from a grandmother😊

The NURSERY IS ADORABLE and you guys have done such a great job! - As for the maternity clothes, my sister had a similar clothing issue with her pregnancy. She decided to purchase mens dress shirts in loose, cotton, with long-sleeve and in so many pretty patterns and colors. She rolled up the sleeves and wore them with leggings or skinny stretch jeans with tennis shoes or cuter shoes, jewelry and full-on “date night” makeup. I can 100% see you doing the same. :)

You will need a bassinet to use at night in your main floor bedroom. Nap time can be in the nursery with a good monitor to hear the baby moving or making noise. You will need a good nursing pillow to feed baby so you can be comfortable in any chair or sofa that you choose.

Doctor here - magnesium, potassium, calcium, and several other vitamin deficiencies can all contribute to muscle cramps! Dark leafy greens, salmon, avocados, almonds, and yogurt are some other foods (in addition to bananas) that are high in both magnesium and potassium and are generally very safe in pregnancy. Cramps can also be due to dehydration or under/overactivity, so remember to drink plenty of water and maintain moderate activity levels daily, stretch, take breaks when needed, etc. But you are already doing the best thing for you and your baby - following closely with your OB and running everything by them! Just wanted to offer some suggestions for foods that are commonly overlooked as great sources of necessary vitamins and minerals. 😊

I hadn’t considered this until after I watched your nursery reveal so it might be a little late for this but since you’re struggling with space and fitting your dresser, have you considered moving the queen bed to the nursery nook and using the “guest bedroom” for your baby? I know a baby doesn’t take up much space but it’s all the baby things that do. 😅 I mean if a queen bed fits in that nook, that is. Maybe it can evolve into that later? Just a thought. Regardless, your work is beautiful. ❤
@madzabinga83829 ай бұрын
Omg, I kept thinking this the entire time she was doing the nursery. I even commented on the idea of flipping the King guest bed to the new space now that they took the built-ins out. Oh, well.
@sb56539 ай бұрын
Aside from the magnesium suggestions everyones already given, I found that knowing the correct way to stretch your legs and feet during a charlie horse made a HUGE difference in alleviating the pain and getting it to reside faster. I know it's not the most aesthetic option, but if you plan on using the nursery glider a lot for pumping or feeding (bottle or breastfeeding), a small tiered cart next to it is a HUGE help. I stocked mine with snacks, burpcloths, entertainment stuff etc. I pumped for a little while and then my daughter was formula fed and the cart came in clutch the entire time. You never realise how long you're going to be stuck sitting and the things you need close by!
@herFLYness799 ай бұрын

And clear the top of the dresser.. or you and Romeo could take residence in that room or whatever! But that’s my thought!

They really come in handy when travelling as well as you don’t have to bring sheets and blankets and what not with you and it smells and feels so familiar that it helps the baby feel comfortable in the strange setting to sleep. Some babies/kids are super sensitive to their surroundings and have a hard time settling in an unfamiliar setting.

The room looks so beautiful, he is a lucky baby! Where’s you mama? Haven’t heard you guys FT, lately. She must be excited.

Laundry tip: purchase a detergent with no dyes and no fragrance. that is made to be gentle. The nice part about this is that you can launder your clothes in it too. Laundry detergents marketed for babies often have a LOT of fragrances, etc. Also, we found having baskets with diaper changing supplies in multiple areas of the home was very helpful. And a soft hooded towel was a must for us.

I love the nursery! Kinsley should get a matching mini room of her own.

MaCenna, I remember reading back in the 90's Having a crib mattress protector on mattress BEFORE the sheet is a game changer. It helps keep the baby from sweating and keeps baby cooler. Your first dress I really like the ruching! Your wearing such sophisticated highend very nice maternity clothes, your a fashion icon! I'm telling ya... Kingsley needs her own cozy bed inside the baby boy's room. She clearly will be spending a lot of time in there protecting her best friend.

Slepp with thick wool socks on for leg cramps. I struggled a lot with leg cramps during my pregnancies and it completely went away when I started sleeping with wool socks ❤️

You might have already tried it and I missed it but placing the dresser under the window where the rocking chair is and putting the chair where you wanted to place the dresser. Again you might of tried it and still too big for that space. I love the nursery. Love your vision and how it came together.

My suggestion for the changing table situation….since there’s a bed in the room, I would totally use it as your changing table. Get a roll up changing pad and leave it on the bed for everyday and when you have guests over you can roll it up and put it in a drawer. Changing tables aren’t as needed as you would think. I changed my kids on the bed, couch and my lap all the time😁

My back hurts reading that comment. Seriously, I was so glad when I could get out of bed after my c section. Standing in front of the changing table was so much better for my back than changing him on the bed or sofa.

@@nadjak3410 if standing to change them hurts, sitting down would work really well. My best friend had c-sections, and she never had a changing table. I remember I had one and she told me I would never use it….she was right. I rarely used it.

Thoughts from a physical therapist assistant...to save your back start sitting or squatting when you're picking up things from the floor.

Remember to get a baby clothes hamper! It can be very small and fit next to the changer.

Just wanted to encourage you that you are doing an amazing job, mama! I remember with my first, I wanted everything to be just right and can relate to the level of intentionality you are putting into the nursery project. One of the most helpful things I ended up doing was a "diaper caddy" on each floor or bedroom we used. Because diaper changes happen all over the house. And hopefully you are able to get relief from the leg cramps with magnesium! Sometimes magnesium soaks and muscle sprays can help a lot too! And water....just when you thought you had enough, drink more! 🥴💛 So, so happy for you and Romeo and Kinsley!!!

Leg cramps: I had them really bad when I was pregnant with our daughter, my gynie told me to go stand on a cold floor (we had real tiles in our bedroom so it helped a lot) that cold underneath your feet helps with that cramps so much if you can’t move as Romeo to put a cold compress or ice pack underneath your feet definitely a lifesaver

I know it doesn’t fit the style of the space, but the 3-drawer MALM dresser from IKEA is what we use for a changing table for our kiddo! A lot of changing pads fit perfectly on the top of the dresser, and it comes with all the right mounting hardware to ensure it won’t tip over. You could always DIY it to make it match the rest of the room!

Does the base of crib go higher whilst he tiny? Or does the side drop? You will struggle put baby in/ out without pulling your back/ belly.

A lot of those baby stores closed during COVID, but I remember when I was pregnant/pre covid, there use to be baby shows where a lot of brands would show their products in one location, including small business. There were also Mom2Mom sales where moms were selling their used baby items. I don't know if those still exist after COVID, or even in your area, but worth a check.

Kinsley is hilarious....loved her in your last video. I wonder if she's like other dogs who knew you were pregnant!? Love dogs who sense that something is changing and they'll be a big sister/brother soon. You're absolutely glowing Macenna. So happy to see you and Romeo working together on the nursery. Of course with Kinsley as project manager...lol!

When my kids were babies and in cribs, I would put a Waterproof mattress pad and sheet, then a second Waterproof mattress pad and second sheet. This way, when the baby urinated (or any body functions) all over the bed, at night I could strip away the top layer and toss in the wash overnight and have a fresh set of sheets already on the mattress to put the baby on to go back to sleep. (Does that make sense? Lol) saved me SO much time and stress.
