Great video! Interesting how you disconnect your sway bar when off camber. I prefer to leave it connected if there’s no articulation. That way there’s less body roll/lean. I even set my shocks as stiff as possible. Anything to help lessen that body roll/lean. But, important thing is you got thru. I hate off camber situations. They’re the worst!
@michaelmattingly11883 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was a lack of knowledge on their part. Leave it connected in that situation. Even though it’s wasn’t sketch at all....

@@michaelmattingly1188 I’ve never done that trail so maybe it’s worse than it looks in the video. But ya, the more you go out, the more you learn.

Man that section after Eureka was gnarly. We spent probably 2 hours digging that one area to help level it. I can't imagine doing it in the snow.
@evilcam3 жыл бұрын
In the video with the Toyota guys, who Justin was supposed to join last summer, I distinctly remember that part of the journey. You fellas were nervous crossing it on soft silt and dirt, so doing it in snow must have been really nerve wracking for Justin and Jevin, when it was covered in snow. You all made it though, and no doubt all that digging you fellas did the summer previously helped level it out a bit for these two fella's travel through this area. So, kudos to all involved.
@HoglundOverland3 жыл бұрын
@@evilcam yeah we did a lot of digging but really really only did enough digging to get through in dry conditions. This was a legit obstacle to pass through in the winter. Would have definitely felt sketchy in the winter conditions.

So I've seen it on a couple videos now, at the 914 markish, why do you just not go down into the lower section to the right? It just looks on video that it would be the better way to get by that section.
@JustinBMcBride3 жыл бұрын
That’s what I tried first. The turn is too sharp and the bushes throw a whole different challenge in as they lift and suddenly drop tires while off camber.
@mierdevries96433 жыл бұрын
At 9:33 I'd have chopped the wheels and driven down the slope but if there something there we can't see then I'd have backed the vehicle up the slope to make a straight shot down. I remember my Jeep didn't like making sharp turns in 4wd so maybe it wasn't in the cards.
