This transformation is beyond belief! And it's a joy to see how tickled Monica is! The hummingbirds are already having a party & those chairs are situated perfectly to oversee it all on the patio. It shows how you can turn a smaller, blank canvas of a space into an oasis. Wonderful to watch in every way! Tell Ken thanks for the photoshopped grass!

This is one of my favorite videos because Monica and her garden size are closer I think to the typical viewer. It’s been a joy to see this space come together with thought, materials, hard work and beautiful plants. I was like Monica 2 years ago with irrigation and thanks to Laura’s tutorials, all my beds are now on drip. I have 5 zones off of 2 hose connections and three timers (2 double and one single). Everything is thriving. Thank you so much.

Agreed! I bought 3 of the exact same plant, same group, same store and time. One died, one is struggling and the other is doing great. It’s nice to have someone remind us that plants do their own thing.

That has also happened to me. It can be a bit frustrating especially when you have a design in mind and a replacement plant is no longer available. It most often happens with shrubs for me.

Today I installed my very first drip system while coincidentally watching/listening to this episode! I loved when Monica said “This was easier than I thought!” because I felt the same way. I have been afraid to install it for months!! Thank you for being such a good teacher and for showing me that gardening isn’t as hard as it first looks. Garden Answer is a good friend and company when I’m gardening on my own 💚

1/4 DRIP … a life changer- thank you for introducing us to it over the years! But Laura makes 1/2 connections look so easy - you must have the bionic super power hands ! I now use a lighter to heat up the ends slightly and that’s a life changer too because as I get older - I just can’t do it!

I adore seeing the sisterly bond over gardening with you two. I am one of three girls and am the only one who loves gardening. I get it from my Daddy. He had the "Green Thumb". I try to get my nieces involved as often as I can and they seem to like it so far. But uh seeing you two warms my heart. What an inspiration you have been. My wife and I watch daily and have learned so much. Like your sister we have a new home in Idaho that was "Moondust" and weeds in the back yard. We've added sod, trees and built raised island beds. Yesterday we traveled to Andrews Seed in Ontario. We met Susan and had a wonderful conversation, she and I exchanged ankle stories and everyone there was fantastic! We got a wagonload of plants for the backyard and can't wait to visit again. Laura’s enthusiasm is such an amazing energy to witness. They say grounded (to the earth) people are the happiest people & Laura is such an example of this. I no longer have a garden, but I do have lots of houseplants. I even invested in a grounding mat that I put my feet on every night while I sleep. It is so critical to connect to the earth’s energy every day. It truly makes a difference in one’s mental health. At least it does for me! 🌍❤

Centralizing the trees did bring the balance needed in the garden and mulching made all the difference. Can't wait to see which annuals Monica selects from you. I would love to see her selection and whete and why you plant them in those locations.
