That was riveting. The thing that struck me most of all while watching part 1 was how soft all that snow was. Anything that couldn't ride on top of it was digging in deep! I wondered if you rig up some kind of massive sled (maybe for future recoveries on soft snow), to keep the vehicle that's being recovered on the top of the snow. But then I realised that steering it might be a challenge. Anyhow, using the rollback worked like a charm, even if it was a lot of work getting it up the hill.

Hi Heavy, May i sugestt that you order Proper snow chains from Sweden, a company with name :Gunnebo . You should have Gunnebo Piggelin XL brodd in right dimention. It is an chain in hardened steel squere linkage with cross liinks so the chain not work like a skate if you drive on ice and the machin goes sideways . its an incredible chain and i used it on sevral loaders and never in fifteen years got stuck so i dont have could go from there by my own machin.I have never broke a chain. I can learn you a way to put on the chains so you dont brake them or get them fall off, you put them on once and for all untill you dont need them more. Thouse chains you have in America seems to bee for amatures and hobby work if i may say so without bee bragging or rude . You know you can brake a twisted link like them you have with two spanners and turn one counter clockwise and the other clockwise it will snapp off very easey, and you have a broken chain that will ripp off your brake lines or fenders, not good. Sincearly KJ.

Living in Idaho for over 30 years I don't know how many times we've tried to pull friends and families vehicles out of the deep snow. But here's a free idea free free free free nobody ever took me up on it but I figured you got the money to do it. Think of it like this a sled just a big sled like 10 ft wide and maybe 20 ft long. Out of aluminum or steel and like a rounded front and an access hole in the front of it or you can run your winch through it and hold it in place with your snow cat while you winch a vehicle up into the sled then big d-rings that are on that front part of that sled then you can just drag it across the snow I don't know it's probably a crappy idea but it was worth something it just came to me again. I thought how cool that would be years ago but I've never seen anybody else do it. Oh yeah you can't forget the tire strap downs for the sled or anchor holes where you would anchor the tires down to the sled part of it but I mean it's an idea

From watching Robby Layton's video on the recovery, I believe they initially had the crab steer mode on but it was causing more problems with keeping it on the road than it did without it on. The action, the depth of field, use of light; shot after shot, tilt, pan, tracking, close-up, bird's eye, these guys covered this recovery with the cinematography of documentary film. And they did all that in deep snow, cold conditions with little rest and on the side of a mountain. Then your editors kicked it into high gear!! IT LOOKED AWESOME!!! Damn!

I think Robbys competence is often underestimated by people that don't know him, he's got SOLID intuition tho

When you work with heavy equipment things are bound to go wrong but this crew takes it all in stride, very inspiring. Too bad Prinoth discontinued the Beast. My resort has two; I love the sound of that Cat C13 and pulling out of the yard at midnight is like being in command of a starship. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Cool content as always, but man, the labor of the equipment and the team for one day is more than what that one telenahdler worth :D

this is done for yotuube views and that is what funds everything. they intentionally get stuff stuck for this show
