I'm from north-east Finland.. I can confirm that pottukoira is something that your every finnish friend or neighbour is like. He reminds something from all of my friends.. way he speaks finnish is not like mainstream accent in Helsinki area, it's like how people speak in more remote areas, kainuu and savo. I think that accent is great part of what makes him appealing to finnish audience. Eastern accents are related to some type of hillbilly architype that comes from forests of kainuu and savo to cause chaos and concern among civilized people. I kinda fit into that picture myself.. 😂 When I was a kid I moved to urban area around the age of 7 when school started. I learned to read by myself little before I was 6 because there was nothing else to do, I lived in the middle of nothing, poorest place in Finland, northern Suomussalmi. That was in the 90's, now there's no one living there anymore. Foresting and reindeer hording have changed so much that not much of an opportunities to work, or have family or anything.. Therefore most of the people have left those areas and only old people and people with some issues in life stay there. Finland is also genetically two very different people. "Western type" is like scandinavic and eastern type is that fenno-ugric people that has influenced more in these syereotypes. There was also some kind of racism in Finland, idea that these western scandinavic/german type (swedish speaking) people and culture are somehow better. Finnish elite was swediah speaking about 600 years and finnish speaking population was seen as "peasants". Because of that there's two different versions finnish people that have more genetical differences between them than germans and brits differ from each others, that's how separated we have been socially. Western type of finnish people still live much longer and more healhy and prosperous lives than people with eastern ancestry.
