Finland is closer to becoming a NATO member after Turkey's parliament voted to approve the Nordic nation's application on Thursday. There are 3 key elements that make Finland particularly valuable for NATO against Russia (in addition to their very capable army and culturally resilient people): 1) Finland can blocking the gulf of Finland, the only way for Russia to enter the Baltic Sea, and their short route to the North Sea. 2) FInland is ~150km away from St Petersburg (2nd biggest Russian city, formerly known as Leningrad) 3) FInland is ~150km away from Murmansk (another big Russian city, home of the Russian Northern Fleet) and spreads along the only road that leads to it.

This is one big benefit, Finland has some spare manufacturing capacity that could be used for military industrial product of American companies since there is not such a big hassle on classified information. Also Finland has some kit that USA is interested in like the AMOS system that they have been interested in incorporating to their strikers but could also use Patria 6x6 as the platform. Outside of that Nokia has the 5G and 6G technology available would only make sense to get it from allied nation.
