I noticed no one talks about this but if you use your down special in the air and immidietly press the pickup button you can grab the gem midair instead of having to chase it allowing for kill confirms, fast approach options and even a recovery mixup

Also if you're fighting in the air and use down special there is a chance the enemy will have it allowing you to hit them

Hmm. I can try to think about it but it’s kind of hard to explain since it’s drift and positioning. I have a hard time quantifying what you have to do into specific and repeatable things.

Upwards normal and upwards special are crazy in the air, especially upwards special. Once you have them in the air I like to get a little extra damage in with upwards normal and then double jump and upwards special, then follow up if you have that midair jump perk or hold down to get back to the ground if you don't. Does a bunch of damage and hits them far enough away for you to bail out.

How do you go from side ground to dair everytime I try it finn uses down ground

The timing is pretty tight, you will want to buffer your inputs (use them early) and make sure you input the jump input before your down air input

I personally haven’t found it very useful, I’ve seen some combo set up that’s can lead into it as a read or prediction but I’m not sure how realistic they are to get in a match

meh, my second day as well, havent played smash before, and im top 3k and top 250 with finn in 1s its not hard to gain a lot of mmr in this game i feel, you just have to play the game a lot. i played like 10 hours today and yesterday lol

@@crimsonair8890 yeah I played more and noticed how much it shifts around. I mean I was at a 90% win rate and I lost one round and I got kicked from top 20k to 60k. Not sure if people are weighted or not

@@archangel8444 I had the same experience lol, I was top 3k in 1s last night and lost like 6 games in a row from people at top 1k, I don't understand the matchmaking, but tbf its not even "ranked" yet, its just normal, so when ranked comes around hopefully things become more balanced

Here's a quicker version for anyone who didn't watch the vid Ok so just Use ground side attack as much, high five is a good edge guard sometimes basic best combo is side attack combo into up and then up air special or you can do the same but side attack into down attack and into up air special. Don't even care much about the shop but if u got time then spend your coins for speed. Also side special on the ground is good for counter attacking after an enemy misses an attack. When edge guarding someone who's lower than the platform then try to spike off the edge with ground down attack as a safer spike.

Are you teaching people to mash? Wtf the speed boost is amazing and mashing side attack over and over is not a good idea because you will get predicted if you fight a good player. Mix up your options and use side special on the ground to go through projectiles. Saving coins to kill early with up special is usually better than just spamming it but seems like everyone like the backpack.

@@CatsRGr8_ Nah, it's just the current meta with finn. You can do that and then switch playstyles to not get predicted. If the spam works then it works, that's just how you win. If not, then try something else, there's plenty of other kinds of meta. Jakes might actually even be better with his side air cuz you can keep distance. If the enemy dodges then just keep repositioning and bait them out.
