@pseunition60384 жыл бұрын
@anime Yes, it's fine as long as you actually like it, but it's pretty annoying when people merely assume that the music in the top 40s is the only music they will like because its quality is somehow determined by popularity. It's difficult to distinguish the lazy people from genuine listeners.
@melissahidalgo093 жыл бұрын
yeah. at least he doesn’t listen to f*king 6ix9ine or some shit like that
@EldenRinging3 жыл бұрын
@@pseunition6038 yeah, but I think it goes the other way, too. Like people owning all those "essential" albums cuz everyone is telling them to do so and they don't wanna look like total noobs or morons... which I would actually prefer to come across like instead of pretending to be super knowledgeable. I get it, that contrary to popular belief, taste (in music, movies, arts) isn't something you're born with. First it's the result of growing up and being exposed to certain influences, but then you may or may not venture off and dig deeper. You start learning, so your taste changes, evolves. So many people get so freakin' defensive about their taste in something like it's a characteristic so unique to them, which is not entirely true. A certain degree of "good" taste can be learned, acquired, but that doesn't mean one will all of a sudden listen to just classic symphonies, cuz the rest doesn't hold up anymore, right? At least to some degree your individual life experience will inform your later taste as well. I for myself do think that some music is objectively "better" i.e. more demanding of skill and overall artistry, more complex. I would always consider a symphony objectively better than your average pop ballad. Acknowledging that, I would still prefer the ballad if I had to choose, cuz it may soothe my soul more than it does my brain. One can be super dogmatic and elitist with taste, I used to be that way as well. I think my tase in stuff is way better than it was during my teens. But I also realized that actually nothing and no one prevents me from listening to a top 40 radio hit on one day and to a beautiful orchestral movie score the next day - except maybe the elitism and insecure pretentiousness of others. So fuck it, if he would like the trends, it would still be ok. He could still grow his taste and even if he wouldn't for whatever reason, as as long as it makes him happy, right? We need to chill more out about stuff like this. ...wow, this escalated quickly.

Theres new shit coming out everyday with very high quality, you just need to look for it, its easy to say that the old stuff was better when most of what you might know of the 80s (ofc you may be an expert of 80s music and have listened to everything released in the 80s, but I still think this argument applies to most people) is the best the 80s had to offer. Nowadays id reccommend the same two bands to anyone asking me for cool stuff. 1. King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizzard(Flying Microtonal Banana, Polygondwanaland, Sketches of Brunswich East(this one I like mostly because of me liking mild high club so them collabing makes me kinda biased, not afraid to say the other ones are better xd)) 2.Ty segall(Joy, Freddoms Goblin, melted, twins). Its what I enjoy so then again it might not be what you are looking for, but in 2017 and 2018 both of these bands imo have been making some pretty good albums.

Rhynne Ross I feel bad for you. It’s going to be a bunch of hormone-enraged teenage girls with stranger things t-shirts on. You will also have to hear mediocre indie rock.

Shit, he’s got good taste. I’ve been looking for some fun bands to listen to and these sound pretty neat. Also I love his band Calpurnia. Great music

I need that "it follows" record.pleasantly suprised by his taste.
@thehappyhandler8276 жыл бұрын
I don't know about that man he talked like a true record/music nerd about the bands and records in hand.he even talked about certain members in bands producing in others you know stuff real music fans do.you could argue that he read a script tho but I would think that was bs.to each his own maybe your mad the selections were unfamiliar to you
@thehappyhandler8276 жыл бұрын
and as for the marketing strat his involvement in stranger things is all he needs.i think your reaching a little.

he’s so different so unique , all the teenage boys where I live follow the trends , I mean they do drugs in class , they act like all that shit matters , why can’t their be unique boys like Finn .

Derek Escalante this was a year ago , but no , i mean , i like guys with knowledge , guys who keep to themselves, guys that know about the secrets the world holds , but the guy doesn’t have to be exactly like me , i don’t even care about looks , but even when i avoid looks , it still doesn’t work out , but i like being alone , i don’t need people that care about me temporarily.

I think he’s pretty woke, at least with his online presence. But I guess it’s not really an “online presence” for him, it’s just being online. (I mean, he was on Game Grumps for pete’s sake!)
