Zach and Finneas are the perfect interview duo. Zach asks questions, we didn't even know we wanted answers to. Finneas is so comfortable he goes off into his real-self brain mode. Loved this interview. One theme I picked up is that for Finneas it's not spotlight or background or writing album songs or scoring films--he wants it all and mixes and mingles things to keep loving what he does, staying challenged, and working in going to Trader Joe's.

I feel so blessed to have found Billie and his music, and just became obsessed. And then the more I learn or watch interviews, etc, the more enamored and in awe I become. Zach is the most present when interviewing people and bringing out the real soul of the person and their talent. Finneas I knew of, off and on, as I can barely watch his sister (I guess I'm too old at 66 to even relate to her, her songs are confusing and all sound the same to me) After the first interview on the Zach Sang show, I looked up Finneas' album #OPTIMIST and found his videos on KZbin. He is genuinely talented song writer and singer. He makes REALLY good videos, he keeps his eyes open, makes eye contact to the camera and they're so entertaining. I would go to his concert! And I did buy the album (on Amazon Music)

[May 19, 2022] I watched this interview several times before but noticed something funny today - FINNEAS is a funny interviewee - at 24:32 when you and Finneas are talking about "filling holes", Finneas - right in the middle of that conversation - inserts his middle finger into the neck of his water bottle - I thought, "there's something FREUDIAN about that!" - the subconscious self (the ID) doing its thing! When you see it in the context of the interview, it's actually both comical and suggestive and a little bit unusual - how many times do you see people insert their finger into the hole of the water bottle?!
