Mine was just cut up, and not in critical places, and all those extra plug welded up crap were not done on mine. The only problem I had was the gas block on the barrel stub! To get that off without destroying it I had to use a lathe to bore out the barrel stub, and then it was still a total PITA to get out clean!

Are you going to build it into a semi? If so, which semi conversion are you going to use?

I really like SMGs firing pin setup and I think I want to try and fit a hammer setup. Weaponsguild has a few threads of builds but not all of them still have the images unfortunately

how difficult was it to get the barrel out from the shroud? Did you have to do anything special?

For me it was very easy. I took a dremel to the torch cut areas to clean off the slag. Then I threw it in the freezer a few times, applying WD40 a few times. The only problem I had was getting the barrel stub out of the chamber area because I forgot to remove the plug weld on the underside. What I ended up doing was just putting it in my press and it popped the plug weld.

Dremel disc
