There are three sentences which you need to study hard to integrate; 1. Mitä helvettiä? 2. Voi vittu! 3. Noni (with or without exclamation point) If you master these, you can exchange "helvetti" and "vittu" to any sentence, and if you are not sure about the situation at hand just say "noni", and you are already C3-level in Finnish.

@@aadakaulitzy Nah. you are not that late. It is just quite impossible for regular guy/girl to learn Finnish. Some miracles sometimes happens, but fact is that if some foreigner becomes fluent in Finnish, he/she is probably better in our language than a basic finn. 😁 Have to bear in mind that the official Finnish is actually made up quite recently. Only a few hours? Yes, definitely. However, you can absolutely use these kinds of videos to learn a lot of vocabulary and figure out roughly how the sentences are structured, as long as you take a look at conjugation tables and things like that if you want to figure out why a sentence is written the way it is.

What happened to moi or terve? 🤔 I’m 50+ and lived with my Finnish parents for 20 years and met relatives from Rovaniemi in the north to Helsinki in the south several times during these years. I’m born in Sweden but can still speak ok Finnish. I’ve never in my life heard someone say “hauska tutustua”. Either that’s very formal or new, but it’s not the way “normal” people speak if you ask me. Maybe it’s a fancy way to speak because my relatives are everything else than fancy. 😂 Words I’m used to: 😂 Tottakai, Noni, Sauna, voi vittu, perkele, jumalauta, saatana, piirakka, mämmi, kalja (not olut).

I watch Finnish detective shows and they use Moi a lot in family and informal situations. They use terve when they are greeting people in their house or place of work. I see you are familiar with my grandpa's special tractor fixing words. Good Finnish shows are Bordertown and Hooked, but Deadwind is good, too as it is so bad that you don't mind stopping it all the time to repeat what they are saying.

we dont say our full name to strangers, we usually just say "hello im [name], nice to meet you." in business stuff like calling to a bank then yes, u will have to say ur full name, its more polite. we say "hyvää päivää/huomenta/iltaa" to teachers, work etc. we dont say "näkemiin" usually its kind of.. old? i suppose. i think we say "nähdään" more than "näkemiin" or "nähdään huomenna" aka "ill see you tomorrow" ah, we dont hug we just look for our friend(s) say our hellos and go on our day. i like to hug my friends when i say bye, but not when we meet up right away. ofc if ur lovers or something then yes some people do that. asking someone if they talk english, u can just go up to them and ask "do u speak english" their head movement will show it :D

In fact, Finns are quite a huggers. There was a study about it, which basically told, that we hug damn much, but only people who we are attached with. The study showed, we let people near to us physically more close than people in other nations. My interpretation about this is that hugging is not just a gesture of meeting or departing, but the way we show that we feel the other person - really as an person - and his or her presence really are important for us.

The fact that in this video they didn't speak the language what we normally use, that was a "booklanguage" but we all speak normally "spoken language" and then we have many patois and literally none of the words sound the same. There are like 100 different ways to say the same word. So even if you learn finnish in this video, you still don't understand all what they are saying. Yea i know, because i hate my motherlanguage too haha :D

The entire song is one frase that starts slow but gets faster and faster as the song goes on. Afterwards when you've mastered that move on to other songs like Hei rakas by BEHM or Ikuinen vappu by JVG

Because they are both way too unusual for English speakers, but Japanese is absolutely different, I don't mean to harras anyone, but Japanese can't pronounce "L" and they don't pronounce "u" in many situations, like です or そうじき, and grammatically they are absolutely different.
