Hello from Finland! What a pleasant surprise that you have thought so well the design features! I didn't find any mistakes in this video. Only one notice that comes in mind from my experience of building saunas: Air intake should be right above of kiuas (the heater) or on the wall near the ceiling and above the kiuas. Then the incoming fresh air mixes right into the heated air. I use 3litres/second airflow in family size (abt 4-5 cubic metres) Exhaust should be only from below the door and into shower room's exhaust. Then the sauna dries thoroughly from the ceiling to the floor after use and there is no cold barriers inside sauna, because these will affect wood panels to mold in longer time. Therefor if you have to use exhaust inside sauna, install it as low as possible

I instantly loved that you made the distinction of the pronunciation of "sauna" vs "sawna" (and what each of those structures might represent) without necessarily trying to draw attention to it. Very finnish of you! 🙂Well done. Great video!

Thanks for the helpful video. I have been following your work for a couple of years and wanted to purchase the materials from you guys . But unfortunately Brexit makes it too expensive to import to here in Ireland . I wish you good business ☘️

Just what I was looking for thank you. 🙏🏼 do you have any drawings for sauna set ups? I’m so glad you said about the kindspan! I had my suspicion normal kingspan would off gas!

Can you please discuss the options for the interior wood surface? Cedar vs Poplar. In the US there's a big difference in price.

Here in Finland Pine and Spruce are the most traditional woods used in saunas. Heat treated black alder and aspen are also very commonly used today. I have spruce panels on my sauna's walls and the benches are heat treated pine. But overall you can use any wood you like. I hope this helped a bit

I am wondering WHY you don't use sheep's wool for insulation? Non flammable, natural, renewable, great insulation properties and no chemicals. There are sauna builders in the US using it.

Bench should be so your toes are level or higher than kiuas stones. Otherwise your toes are frozen while your upper body sweats and you get a feeling like you are sick and in feever, you are not relaxing.

That's right! This is called the law of löyly. It's not always possible in all spaces to achieve this. Also open-sided "tower" heaters behave differently.
