It’s actually crazy how Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to PSG not only had a butterfly effect on Liverpool, but you can honestly pinpoint it to having affected a lot of teams around the world, it broke the transfer market, it was the beginning of the end of Barcelona truly being elite, and it even affected other European giants

Hey wanna hear a crazy one? The controversial disallowed goal from Sheffield Untd against Aston Villa made Sheffield get relegated by one goal. That meant Villa would stay up. Villa then bought Emi Martinez who got selected for Argentina because of his heroics for Aston Villa. So if the goal line tech worked in that Premier League match then France would have won the 2022 World Cup since Martinez wouldn’t have been selected for the world cup squad.

Well not really, our (Argentina) coach already had his eyes on him and told him that if he wanted to be considered for a call up he had to be the first choice keeper at his club. So yes, it was Villa after all what brought him here but I'm willing to bet it wouldn't have been too different if he was signed to any other mid-table team on the top 5 Leagues.
@gsampson97
@gsampson97 6 ай бұрын
This is incorrect, the year that the goal we scored against Aston Villa that wasn't given was the 19/20 season, it was actually the first game back after COVID and the season restarted. That season we finished mid table. It was actually Bournemouth that got relegated because of this goal not being given, they threatened to sue the goal line technology team. This is the only reason Aston Villa are in the position they are now and Bournemouth are struggling. The year after is when we were relegated in 20/21

Crazy one too: David Beckham was one of the most wanted players in the summer of 2003, numerous teams wanted him but the biggest ones were ofc Barca and Real and he chose Real cuz of the marketing reasons where both Real and him especially would earn a lot of money and Real became "the Hollywood of the football" with him, Zizou, R9, Raul, Roberto Carlos, Figo, etc now Barca without their target they went on to find another one, and they found one in Paris, his name is Ronaldinho who was also a top priority that summer and Man United now without their RM were in pursuit, luckily for them they were playing friendly match with Sporting where they not only found a new RM but a new superstar in Sporting, young CR7 and they signed him and gave him a no.7 immediately after Beckham left Man Utd, so if Beckham chose to join Barcelona, he would occupied a RW or RM spot in the squad, where Messi would never got a chance to flourish and Man Utd would probably went on to sign Ronaldinho, where they wouldn't to sign CR7 if that happened, so David Beckham signing for Real Madrid actually led to the greatest era in football and the greatest rivalry in sports history with Messi and Ronaldo

I also mentioned Beckham getting dropped by Capello, led to him going to the MLS, increased the value of that league tenfold, and gave him his own team that Messi ended up joining which further increased the value of the league. All of which is going to propel football into being one of the most popular sports in the US which is going to mean lots of investment in talent, development etc. The US team will be a force to be reckoned with in 20 years and knowing those corporate fucks they will bribe their way into establishing a world champions league or even just a global league in general.

Here's a butterfly effect for you. If gerrard never slipped, Liverpool would've won the league and Brendan Rodgers would've stayed in charge for about another season or two. This means Liverpool would've never been able to sign Klopp and win all those trophies.
@epydemiq1
@epydemiq1 6 ай бұрын
If Brendan had won the league Liverpool would trust his judgements and he would've made a lot of positive changes. So keeping him for 2 or 3 more seasons he probably could achieve big things. But Klopp got the perfect club for him and Liverpool got the perfect coach for them at the perfect time, when they just got Coutinho money. That's what Klopp capitalized on and made marquee signings bcuz Karius was a joke keeper. Allison and Van Dijk were essentials and Salah and Mane sealed the deal for victory.

The craziest one was the fact that Manuel Pellegrini, who was in-charge for winning the league for City that season, would have been fired had he failed to win the league, and City was heavily linked to Pep even during those times, which meant that Pep wouldn't have managed Bayern and joined City with the most scuffed line-up. So, technically-speaking, it was Pellegrini who had been preparing the squad for him.
@epydemiq1
@epydemiq1 4 ай бұрын
@@kohikappu Honestly he's a joke. I know concussion was the excuse after all the mess, PR working well, he's an okay keeper though at best. Karius been prone for errors, the season before he was dropped from Klopp starting XI for the same mediocre reasons and had to play Mignolet. Allison has and will always be an upgrade for Liverpool from Karius.

@@AliMuhammad-vo3cz Messi flopped?? If you had any braincells, you would’ve known that Messi had the best G/A ratio in all of Europe in those years he played in PSG. Messi in PSG had 41 G/A in 41 games at the age of 35. He had 16 goals & 16 assists in ligue 1 while playing as attacking midfielder. KDB who was the most similar profile to Messi had 16 assists and 7 goals. So you could argue that Messi was the best attacking midfielder last season, considering he carried struggling PSG to 3 titles and providing all the assists to Mbappe and Neymar. Not to mention, Messi was the only player last season to register 20+ goals and assist all competitions. It’s a fact that Mbappe wouldn’t have scored most of his goals if weren’t for Messi so both him and Neymar were in his shadows so seethe harder Penaldog. Pendu flopped in the biggest stage in football, the World Cup that even Maguire has more knockout goals than him LOL.

7:25 that Champions League group may have affected Napoli as well. Ancelotti was coaching them, and they proved to be strong opponents for both Liverpool and PSG (who then started being on friendly terms with Napoli). Because of their newfound European form, Napoli with Ancelotti started growing stronger, and he was even getting talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join him because they were in need for a new striker. In late 2019, however, Ancelotti was sacked, and replaced with Gennaro Gattuso. Zlatan didn't join Napoli (since Ancelotti being there was one of the primary reasons he'd have come), but, even after winning the Coppa Italia, Napoli still needed a new striker, and found him in a young Nigerian star called Victor Osimhen. He obviously became an integral part for Napoli, and, a few years later, lead them to their first Serie A title in 33 years. As a result, being paired with the two teams that benefitted from Neymar's transfer brought Napoli two trophies.

With out Neymar leaving, Barcelona don’t spend 100’s of millions on replacements (dembele, griezmann, continho, Malcom etc) they don’t go into horrible debt, Messi doesn’t leave the way he did

Great video! And even another perspective on the most influencial transfer in football's history. Neymar at that time was worth more than entire clubs, I really wonder what was happening behind the scenes in Barcelona and later at PSG.

Another great butterfly effect: Ten Hag joins Man Utd and has issues with Cristiano Ronaldo, resulting in the transfer to Al Nassr. Shortly after getting there, Cristiano calls Portuguese manager Luís Castro, getting him to join the Saudi club. Castro at the time led Brazilian club Botafogo to the best first leg in the Brazilian league history (15W2D2L), leading the table by 13 points, putting the club on course to win its first national title in 28 years. After Luís Castro left, Botafogo is on its fourth manager, blew the entire lead they had and with 5 games left it’s likely the will fumble the trophy lol

Neymar's transfer also caused a Catastrophic demise of Barça as well. 222 Million that has caused the club everything it was known for. Being a Culé these days is an emotional nightmare. We literally never know when we will be happy or belligerently angry.

Crazy how a single footballer affected the outcome of two different league titles for 2 years, 2 different UCL titles and inflated football wages by an astronomical amount. And to think just the 3rd best of our era did this. I wonder what would happen if Messi or Ronaldo transferred in their primes. Would've broken the entire world

In the brazilian championship, Botafogo was 1st place for more than 25 games, until Ten Hag went to Man United. When this happened, Ronaldo became mad and decided to leave the club. He went to Al Nassr and required a better manager. The club signed Luis Castro, who was the brilliant manager from Botafogo. They couldnt afford a sufficiently great manager to keep them on 1st place and they lost something like 10 matches until the end of the tournament. With two matches missing, Palmeiras could take their place to become the champions of Brazil, with Botafogo finishing in 5th place.
