I really like that you listen to the community and find other solutions. This is why Finsweet is great 😁. But, as a developer, I'm not sure about this one. I understand why the tool is useful. But even with your arguments, I don't see myself paying for each domain. It's like, if I'm a home builder, I want to pay for tools to build homes, but not pay again for these tools every time I build a new home 😅 However, maybe I'm missing something here!

We're the wood for your home. You're a home builder, and you buy wood for every project. We make sure your wood is excellent quality, built to last, and we give you a generous warranty for any defects or unexpected changes.
@Finsweet
@Finsweet 5 ай бұрын
We support the lifetime of the wood, just like we support the lifetime of our Components. If Google releases another consent update (which will very likely happen in the future), we'll make sure your Cookie Consent setup is updated to the new requirements. We'll try to do this automatically without your input. If your input is needed, we'll guide you through the manual steps you need to take. All of this is included with the original shipment of wood.

@@Finsweet Not at all man. That's a bad analogy. The wood is webflow not you. You are the tools to create the house. You wouldn't buy brand new tools ever time you built a new house. You'd go out of business real fast doing that. You are very misguided in your role here.
@magicanexus
@magicanexus 5 ай бұрын
@@Finsweet I'm not sure about it. I see Webflow as the house (walls, electricity and water) and a slider or/and cookies as the wallpaper, and your Webflow app is the "overkilled but very great" glue and paint brush that help us to set it up faster. I don't want to buy a new paint brush every time I need to build a new house. I want one that works great and that I can reuse 😁 I hope you understood my vision about webflow apps ahaha
@marcos-rodriguez
@marcos-rodriguez 5 ай бұрын
 @magicanexus In your own analogy, you aren't paying for the paint brush(tools) the app is free. You're paying to use maintained and ready to install premium wallpaper, stairs, mirrors, tables. Some homes don't need maintained wallpaper or maintained tables. You are free to use Webflow's default components or build your own and maintain them. I think at the end of the day it comes down to: 1. Do i need this for my project. 2. What would it cost me in time & money to build it for myself or my clients. The answer will vary person to person and component to component. For some developers it would take them months to build a comparable cookie consent or only a few hours. If you're able to build it yourself you have the advantage of being able to copy/paste. But for other developers they have to pay for their inadequacies or because their time is worth more than what they would spend trying to build it.

Just venting: What I'm a little sad about is the same as always: the pricing might not be a big deal in the US, but in less rich countries with lower price levels, like eastern Europe, a one-time-payment for like a cookie component can easily mean a 10-20% increase for the project. And it's not fair because here, the same service simply feels more expensive. And it is not proportionate to the value of the project. Same is true for WF, I have been waiting for localized pricing for years now. Probably, this is not a priority. About the Components product: great, I like it!

You can say that about any company. Any service you use can go out of business. Although nobody can promise the lifespan of their business, we feel extra strong right now. 9 years running with no debt, no investors, and a cash-positive business model that's proven. Our Product initiatives are growing in all directions, and this revenue will only strengthen us. We feel great about the future, and your support will help us get to the next level.

I think the component system is great. I pay for 20 different tools monthly to manage my clients; Webflow, elfsight, termageddon, etc. Your pricing model makes total sense. People that don’t get this should think about it from your perspective. The fact that there is a lifetime fee is even better as clients will pay upfront for the service. We just add it into costs while creating quote. Simple This is what I was looking for. Great work!

it doesn't make sense at all. You now will have to pay for a different component for each website instead of one "agency" fee that gives you unlimited access to everything. YOu know like 99% of ever other company on the planet that does it this way. You'll end up paying thousands of dollars per year if you're using this in any real business. I'm super disappointed in finsweet.

I can't wait for the CMS Bridge - buying this day 1. But honestly, I don't understand Components. I just can't see agencies and freelancers charging clients for basic elements like sliders, tabs, number counters etc that every dev should be able to implement. I still believe there is a better way to make it more useful for agencies and freelancers. Components could really help speed up the agencies' workflows.

yaa they are seeing is as pagetool but its a DEVELOPER tool. I don't know why they can't see it. js dont just break 😅 for a slider after a year even if it does I M pretty sure it would be easier to do that maintenance one every2-3yrs

"Components could really help speed up the agencies' workflows." You said it right there. There are a lot of companies that want to pay for this. If Finsweet Components makes your job 20-30% more efficient, is it worth a few hundred dollars per site? What if it makes your delivery more efficient and higher quality? This is what we're going for.
@Finsweet
@Finsweet 5 ай бұрын
@@yashbindal_ JS doesn't usually just break. It can, but you're right that it's not common. You can implement everything in Finsweet Components with JS. There will be a lot of people that do this. @@Finsweet I would have 100% agreed with you if this tool was focused on people who are building their website on their own not hiring webflow developer. Buy I believe over the years Webflow Talent has massively improved. That set of people are now with framer. I geniuenly believe this will save time but I would rather pay a guy for 3rd world country one time fee cause if I get the issue I can quickly hit him up and sort it out. I think this service would be more appropriate for wized site of your business where talend is still new learnig and stuff. Now we have huge 7 figures agencies, 6figures freelancers who can easily outsource this rather than paying. For example I believe cookie concent will be one of your most sold component but that particular one has very high one time fees which will shift people to monthly 10$ which then raises a question for 10 sites should I my clients $100 or should I hire a guy who can make that for 200dollar and whenever I want to make changes maybe charge 10dollar. Ps- I love finsweet I think I am also the most active member of wized discord and promoting Wized. I watch Alex's stream every week. The work you guys do, I am beyond thankful for that, So don't get me wrong. I am just thinking from different perspective I guess. May be I am wrong, but it definitely think this speaks a developer tool or if it's pagetool agencies and freelancer are not your audience. very small business owners who can't afford high paying freelancers might be.

I can only talk about the ones already released, and I love the slider thing. Cookie consent for 300, probably not, but I will be getting that slider for a $100 for sure. I think it's a fair exchange. I just have one question, since you're insisting that it's a service, what happens if tomorrow you stop offering the service for any number of reasons? Will the slider break? (I mean i know it will duh, but what's the solution?)

Finweet.... I don't know who is making the decisions in your company but they are incompetent when it comes to business and it shows. Your customers aren't companies, they're FREELANCERS AND AGENCIES!! Please get this through your head because the issue isn't paying a $10 measly subscription, it's justifying to every client FOR EVERY PROJECT that they should pay that $10, for me to work faster. I seriously can't comprehend how anyone in this sorry company cannot comprehend that... Literally if you charged $30 monthly for this to be used on every project then that would ACTUALKY SERVE YOUR AUDIENCE! I don't know which is dumber, the monthly model or expecting me to pay $99 for a basic slider that i can code on my own. Please actually understand your customers instead of being another greedy corporation because your business logic makes no sense

When CDN crashes, which happens sometimes(forgot to prolong ssl certificate as of late), libraries that Components use become unavailable, so all breaks. Will F`nsweet use own servers or clouds to avoid these dependencies ?

"We're the wood for your home. You're a home builder, and you buy wood for every project." Sure - but once purchased, wood can be used for any purpose. Instead you guys are selling a pre-made structure made of wood. Like a garden office shed (that still needs to be painted, furnished, and configured to match my needs) - If I opt to pay monthly then one missed payment means I lose access to my office. - If I pay for lifetime access then when I move house I have to leave the office behind. The new lifetime pricing feels much better than your original approach. That said, it still feels odd to position some of your Components as "published page" tools rather than "Dev Tools".
@Finsweet
@Finsweet 5 ай бұрын
Appreciate the well-thought comments Matt Wood can be used for any purpose, yes. When you use it to build you home, it can't be reused. It's a one-time use. Your description of what we're selling is accurate. That's what we're going for. After a year of growing Finsweet Components, it will be more clear to everyone (including us) what Finsweet Components is. We see it as a published page tool today. But maybe we're actually building the go-to dev tool and we're talking about it wrong. What we do know is it's going to help people of all experiences in a large range of use cases.
