But it IS her best album. When The Pawn is also up there but only on FTBC was she able to not only communicate her rage through her vocals and lyrics but also through the production. A masterpiece.

I would never suggest someone just listen to one song from this album. This is an album-album. You’re not getting as much out of it without listening to the whole thing. So, if you’re gonna listen to more songs from this album I suggest a reaction to the whole thing. However, some individual Fiona songs I would recommend reactions to: Fast As You Can, Criminal, Every Single Night, Hot Knife, Not About Love, Valentine, Paper Bag, Limp. You may not know Fiona that well. But she is one of the most acclaimed and influential artists of the past 30 years. Even rappers/R&B artists have shown her a ton of love: Kanye West once said he wanted to be “the Fiona Apple of Rap”. Jay-Z paid her to perform for just him and Beyoncé on his birthday years ago. Azealia Banks claimed her to be the best white girl artist. Sza and Frank Ocean have called her an influence. Fiona abandoned the mainstream in the late 90s and barely releases, but she is that bytch.

The album this song is from is probably the most critically acclaimed album of the 2020s so far. And it deserves to be. However, if you’re gonna listen to more of this album then you kinda gotta react to the whole album. I would never suggest reacting to just some individual songs from this one.

I always thought i d like to see some fiona reaction s of yours, so this is cool, although the song choice is not exactly what i would have picked to get you into her artistry Thank for the reaction nonetheless 😊if you re interested, I d recommend listening to the complete record with fiona. I think you might enjoy the "when the pawn... " and "the idler wheel... " LPs/eras bc they re bars on bars(she actually is one of the greatest rappers alive- only as a singer😂 ) and rather edgy but with a hint of good pop in it in terms of catchiness and melodies. Imho the"fetch the... " Lp Is comparably hard to listen to soundwise, and "tidal" Is beautiful but also giving a little bit of elevator music, and extraordinary machine is a worse 'idler wheel". "Sleep to dream", " Shadowboxer", "limp","fast as you can" , "on the bound", on the bound", " Not about love", "tymps(the sick in the head song) , "ol' sailor", " Every single night", "werewolf" would be some songs i d recommend based soley on personal taste and in no particular order though, if you re not into doing a whole album😊

Her vocals are very animalistic towards the end, she's an incredible artist and if you've ever experienced the desperation that comes through when she sings this one, you'll understand everything about it. I'd recommend listening to the recording of her singing this album live, it's amazing.

I would slightly agree with you a few years ago. But as time has gone on, I really think it’s her best work and the best album of the decade so far.

@liteflightify I can see that! Sitting with the album since release, I have gone back and forth on it. However, I'm pretty certain that whilst an incredibly consistent record, it doesn't come in the place of a top ten in terms of album of the decade. All subjective though, Apple's music is so powerful and masterfully crafted it's no wonder so many consider FTBC to be the crown jewel in her discography (as well as among music itself).
