Wintertime makes me think of holly, so here is a sweet little holly leaf and berry combo, where you can make the holly leaves as prickly as you like. So, sit back, relax, and watch as I take you step by step through the process. Then have some fun and make your own 😊
The music from the video is English Country Garden by Aaron Kenny and Waterfall by Aakash Gandhi, both available from the KZbin Free Audio Library.

I use glass ornaments/baubles to decorate with clay. They can be found in stores and online.
The earring findings are available from bead stores and online.
My Pasta Machine is an Atlas 180, and it has setting 0 as its thickest and 9 as its thinnest. There is a standard way of calculating the thickness of clay required, by using stacked playing cards. On my machine the thickness are as follows: Setting 0 = 8 playing cards, setting 1 = 7, setting 2 = 6, setting 3 = 5, setting 4 = 4, setting 5 = 3, setting 6 and 7 = 3, setting 8 and 9 = 1 card.
Thank you so much for watching.

I completely agree, Joyce. I just spent the afternoon with Fiona's voice in the background playing her tutorials, as I created an ornament requested by a family member. Her voice calmed my anxiety over working to a request, and all the good advice she shared didn't hurt one bit either!

Can I ask what pasta machine you're using? I use a Marcato Atlas 150 and it cannot roll anything past 7. Setting 8 results in bizarre crinkles and 9 the clay is torn to shreds.
@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals
@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, that's unusual, it is a Marcato Atlas I use - I actually use the 180 at home as it is wider, but I have always used Atlas machines, and haven't had a problem with them. It sounds like yours has some issues, sorry :(
@wendymoyer782
@wendymoyer782 Жыл бұрын
My Atlas 150 will work to an 8, usually. I find I have to deliberately condition my clay earlier, then let it sit for a bit before running it through the thinner settings. Then I turn my knob thinner by two to three settings each time I run my clay through. I do find my clay ripples badly or gets messed up if I start with it too soft, and the ONLY clay I have ever successfully run through at a nine, is translucent. I work with Premo. I hope this helps. I did have to play around to discover what worked best for my machine.
