Fiqh of Menstruation - Abnormal Bleeding

Narrated ‘Aisha رضي الله عنها :
Fatima bint Abu Hubaish came to the Prophet ﷺ and said,
“O Messenger of Allah, I am a woman whose blood keeps flowing (even after the menstruation). I am never purified; should I, therefore, stop praying?” He ﷺ said: “No, for that is only a vein, and is not menstruation. So, when the menstruation comes, abstain from prayers, and when it ends wash the blood from yourself and then pray”. [Agreed upon].

A salam alaikum. Thank you for this video. It is indeed helpful. My question however is if you bleed for around 10-15 days, then it stops and starts again about a week later for another prolonged period of around the same time, clearly that’s abnormal. But how do you distinguish which is a period and which is the abnormal bleeding? I already know that I have a cyst which is causing the abnormal bleeding but I cannot differentiate between what is a period and what is not. This is affecting my Salah and now in Ramadan I am concerned it will affect my fasting 😢

There are a lot of videos about it. It mainly depends upon your normal duration and the colour of blood. But obviously there are details

Not really, although Alhamdulillah the abnormal bleeding has eased up so that helped distinguish it from its a bit tough though to make the call.
