That happened to me once, and I was in the bathroom. I heard the sound, and I was stuck for a couple of minutes until I finally tried to go back to the classroom, but I didn't know everyone was outside. Plus, the alarm was in march time, which made it that much scarier. Poor little 8 year old me was running around the building in tears.

@@omgmyspleen3582well they’re required in newer big buildings like airports and high rises. In schools however, mechanical horns like these for sure get your attention better than anything else. Idk why they replace them really as they can be used on addressable systems, don’t pull too much current, and they definitely don’t need much maintenance. My 7002T is a good example of that as it never broke and it doesn’t drain my batteries very quickly at all

When I was in elementary school, we had Simplex 2901-9838 mechanical horns on a Simplex 2903 strobe plate that were on continuous. Then when I went to middle school we had Simplex Truealerts also on continuous. Then when I attended high school back in 2009, we had Simplex 4901-9816 mechanical horns on Simplex 4903 strobe plates that were surprise, surprise on continuous. If I had a fire alarm system, I set it to code-3 instead of continuous.

@@iangilldjsuperdude From the understanding of this Video, The System was Upgraded from a Older Simplex Panel to a GE EST3 Control panel. The EST3 was for a High-Rise Type Building. As for the Semi-New Portion, The 4903's Were working perfectly, so that Stayed. But The Cafe area got EST Genesis Horn/Strobes after an Expansion of this building Now, The system May have been Set to Continuous for the general fact that they may have been already installed and set to Non-Temporal(No coding - Continuous). And when the GE panel was Installed, The EST Genesis were Installed and they Did Code 3, while the sort of new wing Kept the 4903's On Continuous.(That was done because The 4903 models can sync, but will need a Module and If not, could slow the flash rate down by a ton). So it was just left to do Continuous. A residential I did an Internship at had System Sensor Spectralert advances(Both P2R models and The Celing Mount ones, which I assume is the P4R versions). The Campus was Built in 2016. The Panel was a Notifier NFS-320 model(From Honeywell), and the Pulls were Fire-Lite BG12 Adressable pulls, with some Honeywell BG12 Adressable pulls. Both were by Honeywell. The System was Set on Continuous(Non-Temporal). Which I was shocked when they went off(Because It was a newly built campus). All of the buildings have the same devices and are also Set on Continuous as well

Jacob Bogner how does opening the pull station activate the alarm
@boginator557 жыл бұрын
+Blue Lives Matter The Simplex pull stations have a button that is normally pressed in by the backside of the pull handle. When you pull the handle or open the pull station, the handle moves away from its normal position and the button pops out, and that's what activates the alarm. The Fire Lite BG-8 and BG-10 pull stations work similarly.
