Fire Alarm Test in Abandoned Factory

In this video, ill show you through an abandoned factory as we conduct our monthly fire inspection. Safety is top priority, and regular fire alarm tests are crucial to ensure the well-being of individuals and the preservation of properties.

It always drives me nuts when fire systems use low quality speakers in conjunction with long verbal commands. I know they are saying "Evacuate the building using the nearest fire exit" but that was after trying to decipher "Emanulateabing withus for the nearest fyeons" the first 20 times.

When I worked at FedEx Smartpost in Orlando we had a fire break out in the NE corner and management went around on motorized palette lifts barking at us to ignore it and get back to work, so we did while the building alarm rang for 15 minutes. They put it out and cleaned it up themselves. That's unfortunately my only real world experience with a fire alarm that wasn't a drill. Some places are run by assholes.

Emergency lighting will only come on if the power fails. Most twin spot fixtures are non maintained. on occasions you will see maintained fixtures installed in fire exit stairwells but it's not all that common.

Definitely a form of megalophobia. A gigantic dark space, which you realise it's large, once the fire alarm starts echoing. Felt this in videos where fire crackers are thrown in insanely deep mine shafts in the dark. It's the unknown volume of space that is impossible to be seen visually that makes it scary. I guess humans don't do well with two things: the unknown and the dark, hence this phobia. It is uncanny, because dark or large volume themselves are not clearly dangerous. You don't need to run immediately from a threat in the dark or try not to fall deeper in a hole...or...maybe you do(?). This confuses the brain a lot and it doesn't know what to do.

yeah we still test unoccupied buildings. according to the building act 2004 If a building owner wishes to sell a building or redevelop it, the BWOF becomes essential. Before any sale or redevelopment, the building owner must ensure that the current BWOF is in place, up-to-date, and compliant with the regulations. This ensures that the building meets the necessary safety standards and that its critical systems are regularly checked and maintained.

unless of course the building is scheduled for demolition and they are going to redevelop the land. in that case an entirely new compliance schedule and fire engineering report generally takes place.

Nope but similar evac tone pattern, the Cerberus evac tone builds up and then starts again whereas this tone(AS2220) has a continuous slow whoop. This tone is used in NZ and older or bigger buildings in Australia.
