FIRE ALARMS GOING OFF at the Holiday Inn in Mt. Kisco, NY

I was just about to go to bed when this happened! Apparently, the fire department came to investigate. It might be some freaky accident with the smoke detector or some kid who pulled the switch that caused this whole ruckus throughout the hotel. Remember guys, NEVER pull fire alarms unless if it's an emergency or you will get into SERIOUS TROUBLE unless if you own a fire alarm or if you get special permission from the building owner to test out the system.
In case you're wondering, this is the hotel that the company provided me with for the duration of my intern period. More to come later.

I was in bed just now at 0:10am and my Nest smoke alarms went off, that noise screaming through the street... living alone in a big house. Nest refuses to turn off the alarm while the sensor is detecting something. Nowhere in the house something to be seen, only the attic left to check... it’s that one place i don’t want to be in the middle of the night 😂 And first i had to grab a ladder from the garage in the backyard in the darkness, bring it all the way inside & upstairs to reach the attic... Finally got it all quieted down, false alarm. Ugh why does something like that need to happen exactly at night. It got some adrenaline pumping in me lmao 😂 Good reminder though to have everything for emergencies well prepared like that ladder, and the transport cages for the cats.

In modern systems, the main control box will tell where the zone is that's sending the alarm so we know where the possible fire is. Most of the time when the alarm comes on, we go to the main panel and it just displays a trouble code. Then, we silence and reset the system. Usually, it's a defective sensor. But, the system is designed to alert us of a problem. To protect lives, and property! ✝️❤️💜

At least it wasn’t EST Genesis horn strobes. Those are as loud as a Wheelock AS on full volume. An Embassy Suites I stayed at next to LAX airport in El Segundo, California had Genesis horn strobes at least it never went off when I stayed there

Lol once the fire alarm went off 3 days in a row, The first one was because a student in my class in cooking said “Oooo it’s burning” and then the fire alarm went off, the next day it was the same student but it was because they “didn’t” know it was a fire alarm button, then another student in another class the next day set it off the same way as the second day!, my school is stupid lol

Yeah the horns in the background are Wheelock MTs or AS's they both use the same horn sound especially when the MT is on electromechanical horn mode so unless someone else shows pictures of the alarms we'll never know which ones they are. As for your school sounds like your school may have Simplex horns could be the 9803-9219

Those are EST genesis speaker strobes in the hallways and the alarms heard outside are either Wheelock MTs set to electromechanical horn or Wheelock AS horn strobes

You won't get stuck the elevators will enter fire service mode in that mode the elevator proceeds to the ground floor and the door opens and it locks out and stays in that state until it's reset by the FD or building staff

Did it play a message at all when it went off? That sounds like an EST ANS-100 voice evacuation panel attached to some sort of EST fire alarm panel since the hallway speaker strobes are EST genesis. Usually that panel does that (Star Trek Red Alert) type sound for two or three rounds then says "Attention Attention! An emergency has been reported in this building. Please stop operations and leave the building immediately! Use the nearest exit or fire exit stairway. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS REPEAT DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!

@@Exit911YT correct but the specific panel I mentioned in my original post the ANS-100 is a panel that is an EVAX voice evacuation control panel that was rebranded by EST. It's meant to add voice to a system that doesn't have a main fire alarm control panel without voice capability. That tone is an EVAX tone.

We are required by law to adhere to the warning system. We must take every alarm seriously. It costs the hotel around $500 to send out the Fire Department on a run that is hopefully a false trigger alarm.
