Fire And Rain (James Taylor Cover)

This is one of my favorite James Taylor songs. His finger-style playing is so inspiring for me -- his mastery of thumb and finger independence as well as a his rhythmic variation, never relying on one pattern, but always shifting smoothly from one to another.

and yet, he really made it his own. Usually if I am learning the songs I've been listening to for 50 years, I want to nail them as close to the original recording as possible. But George seems to always blend in his own style and approach. It is my favorite thing about his covers, finding out how he will interpret them, and it's always brilliant.
