Why don't I see the glass blowers wearing dydimium glasses?

If I recall there is a visor of it attached to the side of the heat shield in front of the reheating furnace. I've seen more torch work demos where glasses are used because they're right on the torch looking at it a lot. Are you asking more in the sense that you've heard the glasses are now a best practice in hot shops with any torch?

so you don't think they should preserve the history of glass? Isn't that what a museum is supposed to do? There is no reason that they can not do both - curate and demonstrate (which they do admirably, btw)
