It feels like he's looking straight into your soul and running his hands over all your scars while he's bleeding himself. And the guitars were even, not crying but more a cross between screaming and moaning, like when you're so hurt there are no words. Amazing - raw feelings

Daddy doesn’t pray anymore by Chris Stapleton is an incredible song with a soulful punch. Makes me cry every time. This song also has a great story attached. Chris and his wife were getting ready for an event. Chris finished and was nagging her to hurry up. She told him to shut up and write a song. Chris wrote this song downstairs in 15 minutes. His wife finished getting ready and he performed this song for her. Once he finished she had to spend another 30 minutes fixing her makeup

Mercy! Chris Stapleton's guitar, his voice and THOSE STRINGS! I've HAD TO listen to "Cold" multiple times daily since the first time I heard it! "Cold" both exhilarates AND exhausts me! Every time I hear it, I travel back to the time in my life when I was with the only man who was ever the right one for me! Sadly, I was too insecure to realize it and I messed up so BAD! CS's new album, STARTING OVER, is nothing but one great cut after the next! I received both TRAVELER & STARTING OVER for Christmas along with The Best of Etta James! I highly recommend all 3 of these amazing cds! I'm super excited that Chris Stapleton is scheduled to play in both Charlotte and Raleigh, NC in August of 2021! Definitely a bucket list event for me! Peace, love and stay safe!🌹💜

Your explanation on how he conveys the emotion of a song through inflection, stretching the pronunciation of words and so on, is the best I've heard on how his singing affects me. Like you said, there are some amazing vocalists but when a singer can grab your soul...that's Chris Stapleton for me. Never had a singer who's music can take me away, disappear into the song, if that makes sense? It's a bit magical.

First time on your channel. Great great review. I've been praising this guy for years...before Traveller made him a star. He is truly one of the greatest singers to ever bless this Earth. Couldnt happen to a nicer guy...and a true artist. He is much more than a country singer...he could literally sing any genre and kill it. He will be selling out arenas and stadiums for many years to come. Looking forward to listening to more of your reviews. Well done and thanks.

People are going to get tired of seeing me post the same comment. Sorry, crew, can’t be helped. Those of us from a certain demographic recognize this from back when- the Philly sound, reimagined. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, the O’Jays, Love Unlimited Orchestra. Chris’ voice is masterful at conveying the pain in heartbreak. On this one he’s tapped into the thing a lot of heartbreak songs miss- the sadness. The Philly sound is great at giving you the pain in the singers’ vocal abilities, but offset it with the sadness of the lush arrangements. And to me, he recognized the dual effect and actually dialed down his vocal chops to make sure you felt both aspects. This is that song for all those who said ‘his voice is so soulful’. And Chris said ‘let me give them an actual 70’s inspired soul song’. In short, he effing nailed it.
