From 1950 when I was 5 in East L.A. I remember hearing my mom and dad talking about the Santa Ana and I connected it with winds and fires. We had a avacado orchard and it was a business. Santa Ana was I think, an aggressive Mexican General and the Spanish always named places and events after what they saw or what happened.❤

@@octoberemacs9761 I heard something about how California did not allow routine removal of underbrush in the hills and forests surrounding. Underbrush is what makes the fires so bad, and all it takes is a spark of lightning or a neglected campfire and this happens. In nature, forest fires occur because of this and may burn completely down, "cleansing" the land and providing for the new growth that eventually comes.

It is nearly impossible to clear all of the mountain ranges in the state of California. Native grass and brush have a short lifespan. And the new stuff will grow on top of that. Then someone lights a fire (until investigated, not ruling out arson) or the wind breaks a branch and causes power lines to arc, sparking a fire. 🔥 Now imagine a hurricane with winds of flames carrying burning embers 5 miles away ignighting another fire? Imagine how it would be watching that fire creating its own winds on top of it all and it spins into tornados of flames? Yes it does that. Can you imagine a hurricane of flames all around you or a firery tornado in your path and you cannot hunker down in a basement or a closet to wait it out until it's over? Instead your house is now in fire and you must flee for your life or perish in flames. Imagine fleeing in your car only to have a wall of flames block your path and burn your vehicle with your family and pets inside. Yes, that happens. See how many died in the Paradise,CA fire that way. Other states have wild fires too. So, please do not discriminate with your hateful comments. Just remember we deserve humanity to have some empathy for us and some kind words and prayers. Stop the blame game and especially repeating the lies. It helps no one. It causes hatred and division. Did you guys see that husband and wife who decided to stay to attempt to save their home by using the city street 96 gallon black plastic trash can and filling it with water right before the water disappeared. He filled several of these 96 gallon lbs trash cans and used them to wheel them around to put out spot fires. He saved his house and another house by being there and fireman stopped to see what he was doing. The fireman then when out to fill there firetruck with water and came back and then put out that fire. Essentially that husband and wife stopped the spot fires from growing/spreading out as we have seen happen whole communities consumed one after another. I’m not advocating for people to stay either, no. I just wanted to point out how these people in desperation used the city wheeled-trash cans as 96 lbs buckets of water. It was truly gratifying and bitter sweet to watch. Bitter bc I wonder how unnecessary this out of control fire didn’t have to happen??? Makes me think the homes by the ocean could have done something like that, drive those 96lbs gallon buckets of ocean water to their homes then leave them around the property and leave as they should when the evacuation orders came. I wonder if something like that could have helped. I guess it’s my longing of something I wished could have saved the neighborhoods I grew up in and live in. Yes I live south of Los Angeles away from the current devastations but I consider this country my home. North Carolina, Georgia, Laihana-Hawaii tragedies happen it just hurts.

After millions of views spreading lies about the Palisades firefighters lacking water because of regulations, the boring truth comes late like usual and wont be shared. Here it is: 1 - Reservoirs and water tanks were at normal levels and completely full before the fire. 2 - All 114 city water supply tanks were fully stocked pre-fire. 3 - A 15-hour surge at four times normal demand reduced water pressure. 4 - High demand at lower elevations slowed refilling tanks at higher elevations. 5 - This unprecedented fire was fueled by 8 months of no rain and 85 MPH winds. Water is being brought in continuously. 6 - Even if, like Trump claimed, the protection of the Delta Smelt caused over regulation by California, it's the FEDERAL Endangered Species Act that requires the protection of endangered species like the Delta Smelt and their habitats, not Gavin Newsom or California. U.S. Insurance companies are pulling out of Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado Minnesota, Nebraska & Oklahoma & California I expect the comments to me filled with people personally attacking me for putting this information out. People in Calif have had had decades to prepare for these fires. I was on the roof of the home of the family I babysat for in Mission Viejo in 1970 when I was 15 using a hose to keep cinders from catching it on fire during Santa Ana winds. The fact that these fires still rage and people don’t know what to do is insane. Lack of education by the state, and lack of government leadership has allowed CA to burn, slide, and be destroyed. It’s sad.
