True, but he did wanted Guinivere to be the next ruler of Bern and not Zephiel cause he knew Zephiel was too smart for his own good. And in the end he was proven right. Desmond later died of an "illness"... that's what they want you to think.

@@hectorleon465 Holy cow, I can't believe you just replied to a comment that was almost an decade old. Anyway, I wholeheartedly disagree. Desmond hated Zephiel for no other reason that that his son was more intelligent and more talented. He neglected Zephiel for it, and only paid attention to Guinivere to spite Zephiel. The proof is that he would rather kill the fox than let Guinivere be happy because of Zephiel. Desmond was an abusive father, if he had given Zephiel the love he deserved when he was a boy then Zephiel would not have turned out the way he did. You really can't blame Zephiel for killing his father when his father was going to let him be killed....

@@clankb2o5 He tried to kill Zephiel twice! Once through the black fang, and the other time most likely when Zephiel was rumored dead, but then he killed his father (probably in retaliation)

Desmond thought he had finally killed Zephiel but wanted to make sure, so during the funeral he opened the lid of the coffin to guarantee that he'd done the job, which is when Zephiel stabbed him. Gotta say that Desmond really was father of the year.

Honestly, This is one Princess I would hug and tell her everything will be ok. She has went through so much, and the song encompasses it. It's different from Zephiels Theme where his own is very foreboding as a King should be, Guinevere has the sad royalty type of music, encompassing her struggle to finding peace.

The dude telling the archetypes forgot this one: Guinevere is the Nina archetype of this story, like Elincia in PoR, the only difference is that Elicia joins the fight (towards the end though) while Nina and Guinevere don't.

I dunno why, but this hits differently in Project Ember. With how the gameplay changed, so did the story. No more was it about odds you cannot change, or how the world was unfair. It's now more of loss, and despair. Every kill is a challenge - not because of rng, but because the cause and effect of the next arriving turn is stronger in PE. Instead of frustration at the game, you feel tired, as you've had to strategize more and gamble less. Fantastic song either way, loved it a decade ago and love it still.

@@hirotrum6810 lol what fe6 are you playing? On harder difficulties if you wanted to get the real ending you had to gamble and the rng for fe6 is brutal to the player.

@@milesdavis607 It's less rng reliant than awakening and radiant dawn, where the enemy can have occult skills. The rn system is only marginally different then that in fe7-13. True hit is like only a split percent lower than in those games.

Radiant Dawn is an example I can see but Awakening? Lol. Most broken of all Fire Emblem games. You can complete the game without ever gambling aside from perhaps the first 1/3rd of the game. From beginning to end Blazing Sword can at anytime make you reset your chapter because of unfair advantages and blatant cheese the enemy gets.

@@milesdavis607 An attack missing or hitting when it was not expected can be planned around. A good player can set up failsafe strategies around it. You can't do that with occult skills. They happen and you die. Same with crits but those are in every FE game. Binding blade also has large terrain avoid, so positioning can grant you pretty reliable avoid. In awakening lunatic + you need to reset constantly for enemy skills and pretty much rely entirely on pairup doing pair up things well enough for anything to happen, as well as farm for an aggregious amount of time. Lastly, binding blade normal isn't very hard

I remember Milady dropping Guinivere and herself right beside Roy, all because her liege asked to. Literally cried at her loyalty, her zero hesitation to get in the frontlines (I was lucky to have an decent Roy I can place on the front), and it may have ignited a minor drive to ship Guinivere X Roy (still Roy X Lilina FTW tho).

One of Binding Blades great missteps I think was that Guinivere never became a playable unit. Imagine how cool it would be if she joined after we rescue her in chapter 2 or came together with Milady in chapter 13 or at least arrived with Yoder during chapter 21 so she can have a last talk with Murdock and Zephiel.

I think she would work as an endgame unit that joins at the beginning of the Bern Arc where Yoder (and likely Gale if he wasn't cut) would have joined you. Her reasoning would be that she decides that it's her duty to stop her country and brother and as a result she finally joins you in battle to actively fight for her convictions.

She was planned to be the second lord, but the idea was scrapped. It's a shame. Having Roy, Lilina, and Guinevere all be lords would have given the player interesting support decisions and helped the story. It wasn't meant to be though.

Wasn't copy paste per se, it's not the first time Fire Emblem has taken a name from legends or mythologies for character or weapon names. She's simply Guinevere in name, there's plenty of other characters in FE6 with names taken right off of Arthurian characters between Perceval, Bors, etc. The characterization is entirely their own thing though. And yeah 12 years late but hahaha
