This... actually makes a lot of sense when you think about Laurent. He's constantly watching other people train and giving pointers or offering help when needed, which is a very Frederick thing. But he's also very much so Miriel's son :P so I find this pairing more than acceptable for Laurent's personality.

I love this pairing so much. Miriel was so confused about her feelings and for once she doesn't use her spouse as some specimen for study. Plus, they're both character I see as older than the others and also they both have a thing for fire.

I like Frederick as Laurent's father for a multitude of reasons: 1) Frederick is one of the few characters who understands what Miriel is saying. 2) Frederick is one of the most educated and intelligent characters, which pair well with Miriel. 3) Frederick's hair looks good on Laurent and it matches his hat. 4) Laurent is diligent and works hard to feel like he has a purpose, much like Frederick who would even clean up pebbles.

Frederick and Miriel did make a good team in my Apotheosis playthroughs. Those 99 luck sorcerers get annoying. Laurent actually isn't too bad either. I just wish they implemented second gen characters better. By the time you get them, you already beat the game.

Exactly, I mean, It even is one of the few Miriel supports where she is not constantly running tests or the alike.

@@Alex.650if anything SHE’S the one being subjected to tests. Frederick really is the only one who can challenge her in that way, and her pursuit of knowledge makes her want to try harder to meet his demands. Through all that hard work mutual respect is earned. From that respect friendship is born, and from that friendship love blooms. It makes their S support feel genuinely earned. ❤️

For some reason, I used this pairing and I never got to unlock Laurent, ever (haven't beaten the full game yet though). Why? Did a glitch happen or something?

In the paralogue that you recruit Laurent, did you by chance bring Miriel or Chrom along to 'talk' with the desert villages? He's in one of them, and you have to one of the two do that, otherwise you might miss him.

Flying Pilgrim You mean the little chapters where you unlock all the other children character? Because if that's what you mean, while I got the other deserted villagers to appear on the map (and beaten all levels I can), Laurent's paralouge is the only one I _didn't_ get to appear on the map, and I legitimately hooked Fredrick and Miriel up. Is his supposed to be unlocked differently than all the others?

Hmm, that's strange. His is paralogue 14, "Shadow in the Sands." It should be in the lower right corner of the map. If you can somehow do it, then bring Chrom or Miriel. You need to have them 'talk' with the villages you find on the map. If you can't find it, well, I'm not sure what's up with that.
