Yes, the title of this chapter is indeed a reference to GRRM. Ya'll might have guessed. but I'm a fanboy of his books, so it just kinda seemed fitting. Anyways, RNG really wasn't my friend for most of this recording, but I still managed to pull through regardless. I'm actually pretty proud of how tough of a boss Commodus is; he's a tough nut to crack, which he should be. Even Barbarus doesn't break the fight too hard since he gets doubled and Commodus can proc Luna to kill him. Barbarus being able to cheese bosses is sadly a bit of a problem later on, but here, he's just a tool to make the fight a little easier.

That little monologue from Octavius unveiling Darius’s mom as Commodus’s original betrothed and the source of Darius’s royal heritage is an excellent way of fleshing out otherwise forgettable characters. Chef’s kiss.

Wasn't the only instance where I brought that up! The previous chapter had a reference to her being Commodus' fiance in one of the houses you can visit.

@@PhenomBuster13by the way, I came back for a rewatch and noticed that Commodus refers to himself as Lion of the West at 1:24 but Lion of the East at 5:01. Did you ever fix that error in the script?

Holy cow, this mod looks so good I'm trying it out (came from Prologue, only wanted to see how this game looked in the lategame chapters). Speaking of mods, I'm literally making my own Fire Emblem through SRPG Studio, as I've tried ROMhacking many times only to fail. The problem with SRPG Studio I did find however is, the assets are far from complete, so it is the infinitely slower, but ultimately easier option. If you would recommend Fire Emblem GBA ROMhacking, is there a complete course on how to get every fundamental and advanced aspect down? Considering it's faster, all I would need is the information. Did I forget the mention how cool the War Elephant unit is? I genuinely thought it was never attempted before and wanted to include it in my Fire Emblem fangame. As the footage demonstrated, the War Elephant is a unique cavalry with very high HP, poor Speed, poor Res, but decent, not Knight level Armor.

Thanks for the kind words! The existence of the elephant rider battle animations was half the reason I started making this hack, haha. I do remember messing around with SRPG Studio back in the day, and while I learned a few tricks with it, I ended up not liking it for similar reasons to RPG Maker (limited base options for assets). As far as tutorials on making FE Hacks, I'm no expert, but I remember MarkyJoe had a video that went over the basics of FEBuilder, the program I used to make this. The process of making FE hacks has never been easier, you can probably find a tutorial just by doing a basic search on KZbin.

@@PhenomBuster13 Appreciate yours too! For someone who's not an expert, you sure can come up with really creative skills for characters and a unique presentation, which I greatly commend. Frankly that last point makes me hopeful, so I'll give FEBuilder and tutorials on it another shot! Currently playing the ROMhack and I just fell in love with the enemy attack track. The fact you composed it as per the Prologue video is just mind blowing given how good a lot of the tracks are.

@@torri776 Funny thing is, all the skills and graphics are not my creation. The skills all came with a patch I downloader in the editor itself, and the graphics all came from an online repository collated by the FE hacking community. The song you're talking about was actually composed for a different project, but I migrated it over to this one because I thought it would fit.

How come Commodus does have the king class

1: There wasn't really space on the ROM to add in another custom class like the King. 2: I'm a firm believer that not every major villain needs a custom class.

Yeah, Visualboy works fine. I just use MGBA because I prefer the visual and audio quality.
