If you want to decrease Avoid on Maddening, Wolf Knight is a good choice. Since you're trading Avoid/terrain bonuses for better movement and secondary weapon access.

I'm doing this as well. It's fun. I call it the YSB (Yunaka Smoke Bomb). However I did inherit Leif's +15 avoid when using knives, and Marth's +30 avoid so she is truly as high as she can be when in the smoke cloud. It is necessary for some late chapter bosses as they can easily hit her otherwise and often tear through 50+ life making it pretty sketchy unless you have some long range healing/canter tricks going on.

The ennemies will attack her on maddening in the 2nd half of the game, do not worry about reducing her avoid. 140-150 avoid is nowhere near enough against 170 up to 190 acc ennemies that 1 or 2 shot her. She can dodge axe users and fire breaths then, that's it.

I'm using this strategy on Maddening at the moment. Honestly, the 0% hit problem isn't as much of an issue as it seems. Pretty much only axes will be hitting at 0%, which means she can still do enemy-phase damage on most other units without risking much damage. Also, the fog does have movement penalties, which can provide some utility in slowing down enemies, even if they won't actually attack her.

I saw claims that Yunaka "falls off"....yeah. Her stat growth has been insane. She has the Strength of. a Berserker the Speed of a Swordmaster, ridiculous Def and Res high luck..... every stat it's nuts. The only person who beats her out is Alear who I have set up as a Hero Class.

I want to add that the fog effect stacks with normal terrain effects meaning Yunaka can get up to +120(!) avoid just from terrain alone. This is especially useful on Maddening where many more enemies are able to hit her. Even though they won't attack her if they can't hit her, being immune to counters lets her safely set debuffs up on threatening enemies or bosses.

Something I discovered last night that makes this even more broken... Dragon vein stacks with terrain. This means if you have vein fog on top of some bushes or w/e, you get +60 avoid. However, the covert subclass double terrain bonus calculates after all that...meaning yunaka gets +120 avoid just for standing on a square. Yunaka with over 200 avoid? Unkillable. Or if you're on maddening, may be something to watch out for so you don't gain too much avoid.

i'm using her as a crit sniper with a killer bow. With a Olwen S ring, and having someone else do a corrin doge fog, she crits 100 percent all the time.

Think you meant Claude as Olwen's ring is Dire Thunder to make Thunder a brave tome. I'm experimenting with Claude's ring myself and while it feels good, I feel like the bonuses from other rings feel better. Been finding that giving her Marth with a Killer Bow engraved with the Fire engrave pretty much allows her to triple hit everything and almost guarantee a kill. If the opponent is a General or GK, I usually pop in a Radiant Bow and the triple hits either kill or do enough for someone else to kill. Combine this with another unit that can support with Dragonic Hex and it's even better.

This is more or less my Yunaka build, and it is doing me good on Maddening. I've been sure to give her my energy drops because her damage can fall off a bit later. Also, I run a Silver Dagger +5 with Fates because of the higher damage. Her build will eventually level up so she does not suffer -1 Spd from its weight, but it does not really matter before that anyways. Talismans also help her duel groups of mages, and Pure Water when you want to stick her in range of like 7 mages

@@Bromasterplays On Maddening, mages typically can hit her since they ignore terrain bonuses and have higher Hit due to higher stats. So, Talismans help her take hits from mages when she cannot dodge them.

This seemed obvious to me in my first play thru. I ended up with Alear with Tiki + Yunaka with Corrin as my only surviving units on a Trials rank 41 map. They both simply couldn't be hit. Yunaka self heals, Tiki Alear self heals. Kind of invincible combo. I was using Dual Support+ and pact ring so just by being adjacent to one another they both had +30 avoid. Add in the fog, natural avoid from speed, etc. Unhittable. If you can't hit 'em you can't kill 'em. Simple as.

Honestly using the miciah engraving on a silver dagger is the best way to player phase with yunaka as at base she won’t be weighed down and have an even greater chance to dodge also miciah joins the same chapter so the is no need to wait

Her and Loui are my walls. As long as there are no mages any two spaces chokepoint can be held indefinitely and for those I have my flyers with canter and a mage with byleth.

If you have the dlc that skill from Soren to make one of your units a target overrides the AI on maddening and they will target her even if they have 0% chance to hit. Saw a post somewhere mention this. Haven't tried it myself yet but plan on it for the future. Also thanks for mentioning the engraving...forgot about that for her. No wonder her crit wasn't as high lol.

If we’re running Yunaka with a crit build, I don’t see the upside in running her with Corrin considering the goal is to one or two hit kill, negating the effectiveness of Corrin’s abilities like Draconic Hex and Dredful Aura and Poison. I prefer to run a crit Yunaka with the Fates Engrave like you said, but run her with Lyn or Lucina for the dex boost, while giving Corrin to a sniper or to Alcryst for the Fog and the ability to 3 range poke-activate Corrins abilities. Someone else built for utility like a Sniper Zelkoz can set up the fog, and Yunaka can just sweep in and player phase without wasting her turn on setting up the fog herself.

To me, the crits are a bonus, not the focus of the build. If we were going ALL IN on crits then yes absolutely, there's changes to be made.

i noticed you had inherited quality time on Yunaka which is worthless if you have Corrin's ring equipped as it doesnt stack. if you wanted more avoid/hit you could inherit Lief's dagger abiity that at max grants +15 to avoid/hit. that can mitigate the bonus enemies get from your fog. if you dont need more avoid and are also using higher weight weapons and dont want to lose speed you can take his build skill. Even if on maddening where enemies avoid you, Corrin's skill to reduce their movement to 0 than becomes extra handy to stop them from leaving. the only issue with that is than you cant fog as well losing out on 60 avoid.

Are they? I don't watch much in the way of other content creators these days tbh. As far as it being useless on maddening, I don't think that's quite true. Like I said in the video, you can adjust your avoid on the fly, so you should be able to bring her avoid down a bit to still be very dodgy, but still be targeted.

The cripple part doesn't seem to work on this properly since it only activates when you actively attack enemies, not on counterattack as far as I can tell.

The first part does, ie the poison. The draconic hex only works on attack, but you only need that for priority targets anyway.

Something I've been wondering about weapons in general, are the silver weapons even worth it most of the time? Steel is lighter and has innate crit at the cost of a bit of accuracy and might. Not to mention how insanely expensive upgrading silver weapons is compared to steel.

That's where I use Alear's personal skill to force through 3 damage, apply poison and Draconic Hex, and suddenly my crits are quite nice again. 😁

Eirika actually has dodge, not avoid. dodge is not as useful as avoid, as its better to just not be able to get hit at all than to not get hit by crits. I prefer the Micaiah engrave for the higher avoid due to this, but I can definitely see merrit in Corrin due to the crit.

I actually forged my +5 steel dagger into a silver dagger. Now she has a +4 silver dagger. Is that ok? Is a steel dagger better to use than a silver dagger? I just assumed that silver was better since I needed to go all the way to a +5 steel dagger in order to go up to silver.

It's depends on what you're going for. Silver will have better damage, whereas stell has better crit. I like the crit, personally, but either will get the job done in the end I imagine.

Hi! Is this build viable on Maddening? My partner tried Yunaka as her standard thief class multiple times with his build, but her doubling and damage fell off, especially with units like Zelkov and Kagetsu who came with a good balance of strength and speed to outpace her.

It absolutely should be. I have not yet used it in Maddening, tho I will be. I've heard from a lot of community members that it does work well. If modifications need to be made once I try it myself I'll do so tho.

Man my only complaint about this game is the fact that all the great characters have stupid stuff on there faces. When the trope itself comes from modern day setting animes. I can’t take a high fantasy medevil game seriously/ immersive myself when there is a stupid stuff on a girls face. And don’t get me started on a royal princess having a dumbass heart on there cheek for no reason. Like it’s sad I really like yunaka but the character design with that star on her cheek makes me cringe too hard.😢

Tbh, making guides for fire emblem that don't have maddening in mind is kind of pointless. The changes to the AI in maddening makes people who play maddening and those who don't, essentially playing entirely different games. Even if you play hard mode, the game is so overwhelmingly easy because of the "dumb ai" that there's no point to even making a guide. Literally anything you do will absolutely destroy the game balance and let you steamroll the entire game.

That's not true at all. Just because you're that good at the game doesn't mean other people are, as evidenced by all the people who have thanked me for making my guides. Also this strat still works on Maddening anyway.
