2:41 This pretty much sums up the whole issue with the Children system in this game. I feel like these child supports are damage control for just how fucked up the situation is. Awakening definitely did it better as it actually worked it into the story with the time skip, giving characters time to have a family, that and the kids had a point in the story. Here it just comes across as reckless and makes all the parents look like arseholes for their lack of presence in their kid's lives. Given the fact that these deep realms act like the time chamber in dragon ball z you'd think it wouldn't be too hard to see them often? I like that Nina calls Niles out on this fact and seeing how Niles had no parents around during his youth I reckon this flaw hurts Niles more since you'd think he would want to avoid repeating history for his own kids.

I feel like I"m the only one who actually enjoys this support. Yeah, they're both creepy in their own way, but both have legitimate reasons for their actions: Niles leaving her alone because he wanted to protect from the war, and Nina acting spiteful because she felt abandoned. But Niles surprised me in this support. He went from being a sadistic creep to being an actual father who truly cares about his daughter. My favorite part is the bit where he's like "Nina, I need to talk to you" and I imagine him sitting down on some crate in the middle of the war camp while Nina stands in front of him, arms crossed. But she slowly relaxes as he explains and for once, they're both being perfectly serious and actually LISTENING to each other. They're too alike to NOT butt heads, but like he said, sometimes it's okay to let the implications stand, and I think out of all the parent/child supports, this one shows that sort of love the best: the kind that's never spoken but always there. So I actually really like this support. It feels more realistic than the others, and shows that tremulous emotional bond that's just starting to come together. :)

That's actually what they should've done. Why couldn't they wait till after the war to have children? Plus, they could leave the children in the castle anyway, obviously leaving the children to mind their own business in the Deeprealms did not work out so well.

Number13teen There's no guarantee that they would have lived throughout the war (really though I get sick of hearing that), and if you don't gameplay wise they won't at all. Seriously, how many people die in wars and how many come out mentally messed up? A shit ton of people. Waiting after the war would be best in our case, but Fates is not our world. Also, castle invasions happen bruh, even in Conquest. If the Deeprealms of all places were the safest place for the kids you know the world is massively fucked up. Plus, the Jugdral cast is pretty much guilty of the same thing but I rarely see them get flak for it (probably 'cause they were all killed off as a flimsy justification for the kids growing up being in the game and being playable in the first place). Funny how Nina's chewing Niles out when if she has Kana she does the exact same thing. Can't point fingers now eh?

BlueSunStudios1​ First off don't talk about real world issues with having kids after a war and then saying the two world's are different. The deep realms are in no way any safer than Nohr or Hoshido, most paralouges have the kids wondering out of the deep realm in places that would get them killed had their parents not been there any way. And from a gameplay stand point it's not really that bad. Most times people usually replace anyone they currently had with the child unit that out classes them, this makes sense both story wise and gameplay wise. You play though the game with the parent units that get more time to get the skills you want, and then time skip 20 or so years later to when the kids are old enough to fight.
