But this is not death metal... I listen to it all the time. This is, at best, symphonic metalcore. Not even the vocals fit with death metal as much as they do with metalcore: the usual death metal vocals are deep growls, like Peter Tägtgren, with the high pitched screaming being way higher, like Glen Benton. There are some guys with their range in the middle, like John Tardy, but he is an exception rather than the rule. This singer sounds closer to Howard Jones than George Fisher. Not saying that this song is bad (not in the slightest), but it is definitely not death metal.

I feel there's a bit of a trend when it comes to the stories, I've noticed how every 3rd book, there's always a sense of progression along with the Askr Trio or Veronica in some way, as if they have primary significance unlike the other books, although they do expand on the world building, they also give bits of development to the Askr Trio. But for me, Books III and VI both provide a deeper story to the main characters we truly care for. If there was a game made off Heroes, I hope they use those stories as a basis for Alfonse and Sharena's character arc.

The lyrics basically spell out the story of the Book III and it being from Líf's perspective makes the death metal vocals really hit home his anguish and madness. It's a very informed inclusion which makes me appreciate it a whole lot more personally.

That said, its kinda nice that the style and its fans get some love, i really can't complain since Fire Emblem spoils us with so much great music, i think its a good thing that they explore a bit.. especially given the deathly theme of the story

@@socks5266 From what i understand, it IS the future, but an alternate one where Ask and Embla had to ally to oppose Hel, and they performed some ritual thing which killed their kingdoms. Hel told them that killing another world would revive their own ones bit by bit, so this is why they fight us, to try to repair their dead worlds.
