I'm just going to play devil's advocate a bit here, and say that it's not a bad thing that some less popular characters in the series have a shot at getting into Heroes. If popularity was the only thing that determined if a character got into Heroes, not only would upcoming banners be incredibly predictable (you'd just have to look at the CYL results), fans of less popular characters would get absolutely shafted. Characters like Klein, or Reinhardt, or almost anyone from Thracia would have never had a chance at getting in Heroes any time soon. Say what you will about Glade or Bloom, the people that still voted for them are _dedicated._ But with that being said, the way IS has been actually handling Heroes is... bad. Alternate versions of already existing characters (which I don't think are inherently a problem, but it's getting excessive, especially for poor 776), and the less popular characters that _do_ get in are handled poorly, Karla being the obvious example. When one of the most obscure (and worst) characters in FE7 is somehow worthy of being arguably the best sword infantry in the game, while genuinely popular characters like Canas get hit with the Raigh treatment, on the basis of Karla being female seeming to be the only reason, then we have a problem. I don't think characters should be added to Heroes (or even made good units) solely on the basis of popularity, but the way things have been handled up to this point is just terrible, and it isn't going to make the game last for long.

the point is that IntSys wants to make money, the reason Karla is so broken compared to how bad she was in FE7 was because of her low popularity, if Karla wasn't busted as all hell, there'd be nothing to interest people to summon for her. it's the same thing with the alts, a majority of the top 50 in CYL are already in the game, so they can't exactly bank on Ike fans spending money for Ike, unless they stick a new version of Ike on a banner. personally, I'm fine with the new alts, provided they make an effort to really set themselves apart from their original versions. (mageirka and knight chrom did this well, the thracia alts didn't) otherwise, keep the alts for seasonal banners and legendary banners. FE heroes isn't being handled bad per say, it's just they're doing a lot of things that the dedicatted players dislike, the game has over 5 million downloads, so there is a huge casual audience who has never played an FE game and probably don't even give a shit about who gets an alt and who doesn't. as for Canas getting the shaft... well IntSys has for some reason decided that since black knight they'd never make an F2P unit extremely good ever again.

I am happy Canas, Legault and Linus are in the game to be certain; Canas might still be my all-time favourite Dark Mage (and it *is* because of his personality, not just the brokenness of Luna), Legault's actually my favourite of the thief/assassin trio in that game and is still in the running for my favourite Thief overall, and Linus was needed to complete the Four Fangs. Heck, I'll say it; these three were three of the six characters I wanted the most from FE7 not in the game yet (the other three being Sain, Oswin and Nils) Karla seems a bit arbitrary and I'm not a fan of having alts outside of legendary heroes and specialized banners (like seasonals or the fallen heroes one). And as for Rath, hm, they do seem to not like giving us non-infantry archers outside of alts for whatever reason. Who knows, with the new red/blue/green archer options we might see him as one of those.

Zerk, you seem to be ignorant on the subject, so I'd like to correct some things and explain why Karla was included in Heroes instead of Rath. It is a well known fact in the scientific community that breasts can influence rankings. The bigger the character's breasts are, the more they jump up in rankings. This phenomenon was discovered by a modern scientist, philisopher and researcher simply known as Boris. And if we add thighs, which also influence rankings, to the equation, then a character can jump up hundreds of places. Superficially, Karla is 307, but when you apply Dr. Boris's research, you will discover that she is in fact number 7 in the poll. Please, do a bit of research before posting videos to avoid spreading misinformation.

Karla is random but at least we got another top tear sword unit. Legault could be fun and his weapon is top meme material, and a decent weapon. I fine with Nino. She's still cute. Linus as the GHB is very much welcomed and I'm just glad his art looks good. Also having basilikos makes him very desirable

The only logical explanation I can think of is they’re waiting to make him a colored bow unit, but a colored bow on horse could have it’s serious advantages and he pretty top tier depending on the color. I can see him totally getting the back burner, and coming out around the same time as a popular seasonal banner making him seem less important in comparison BECAUSE of his class type. If anything, I feel like he should be a TT unit, but IS would rather go bankrupt than give us such a unique unit for free. With all that said though, I do believe he deserves a spot in Heroes...

Karla, Karel, Bartre are in because Fir is popular and they're family. Maria and Michalis are in because Minerva is popular and they're family. All the Black Fang is in because Nino is popular and they're family. So it's more like Fire Emblem Nepotism. So it's Sue's fault she isn't as popular as Fir (because she's not good) and being a Nomad doesn't help since they are busted.

ZerkMonsterHunter 4 Well Karla produced a cute, popular daughter (I have to wonder if Nino and Karla were explicitly made due to the popularity of their offspring since the Old FE6 poll has Raigh and Fir as top 5 characters) so she gets through the power of nepotism... well at least the Firservice is finished and Nino could still have Lugh, Sonia, Brendan, and Hugh/Niime (though that's more of Canas's business)
