One thing I feel is important to mention about the Binding Shield is that the 5 stones were originally the Lightsphere, Darksphere, Starsphere, Geosphere, and Lifesphere from Mystery of the Emblem.

Yeah, I did see those during research but because I haven't played (New) Mystery of the Emblem I didn't say their original names but looking back on this vid, there are things that I should've mentioned but I didn't during the video. When you think about the lyrics of Fire Emblem Engage, that song is basically Alear’s theme. You can even hear the beginning of the Opening sing “Fire Emblem!” Makes you wonder of Tokyo Mirage Sessions played a role in that.

I finally found another one of the 4 Tokyo Mirage Sessions fans in the world. And yes! I agree. It's very cheesy but the concept of the Fire Emblem being a so g is so very Tokyo Mirage Sessions and so unique.

More on the Crest of Velthomer, it can be surmised that Julia herself is the embodiment of the Fire Emblem as she is the only character with both naga and fala blood and is the only person to open the seal on the tome.

I always thought the crest of each noble house were the icons on the holy blood zodiac. I think it's fairly obvious, since they're the makers of each faction in battle.

Alear being the Fire Emblem is Cheese made alive. HOWEVER, is my favorite scene in the whole franchise. That whole scene, with the other 12 emblems talking about Alear, felt a celebration for the franchise and for those players that followed the franchise untill now. Like "You followed all of our stories, you've known about our pain and joy. As we are a part of you now, you are a part of us." I fucking love Engage.

How important the titular object is definitely varries but looking back i don't think it ever was truly insignificant never played tokyo mirage but one day i will For the one 3H ending you were talking about it's true they loose their own crest but af as i know other's people crest remains(though less important socially)

I disagree, it's wholly irrelevant in genealogy of the holy war, it's mentioned only once in the ending scene of the game and moreso as a wink to the player than an actual important piece of information as it doesn't affect the story or its themes. And it's literally not mentioned a single time in thracia 776, which makes sense as the game it builds up on already didn't care much about it

Wait, I thought Elibe's Fire Emblem was the Binding Blade aka the Sword of Seals. It makes more sense than the Bern Medallion as in the true end of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, the sword resonates with Roy's desire to save Idunn as it's then he learned her past and in turn, frees her from curse that turned her from a Divine Dragon into the Demon Dragon, allowing her soul to heal. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if Bern uses the Medallion as a pseudo Fire Emblem, which is shown to the world as the actual thing, as the blade can only be used by select people, unlike the other weapons used by the Heroes of the Scouring. So if ascension to the Bern Throne requires the Fire Emblem, that would allow that practice to be done without using the true Fire Emblem. Of course, I may be wrong but whenever I looked into the game, the Binding Blade is often referred as the Fire Emblem of that world. Heck, I think Roy in Heroes even refers to the Binding Blade as the Fire Emblem in a tap quote. In anycase, this was a pretty cool video and well made. Keep up the good work.

I understand what you mean and I would've thought so too. I think that its kinda like the Binding Shield and the Falchion, as they are both used to seal dragons. Like if you let Chrom deal the final blow to Grima in Awakening, it doesn't kill Grima, but just seals them away. So the Binding Blade is like the Falchion, and the Crest of Bern is like the Binding Shield. Also the original owner of the Binding Blade and the Crest of Bern, Hartmut, uses both to seal Idunn. Hopefully this makes a bit more sense by using the Falchion and the Binding Shield as examples, and thanks for the compliment!!!

in game they specifically refer to the seal of bern as the fire emblem, and it's a gemstone that fits within the hilt of the binding blade and allows someone to draw it from its pedestal. In a way it's a callback to Archanea's binding shield, the fire emblem is only a part of the actual original relic which is here the binding blade. I doubt it's a coincidence

You just mentioned the Awakening spheres and not their names in Archanea. You also failed to mention that the Darksphere was used to create the evil Tome, Imhullu and corrupt Hardin. Or that Marth put the Binding Shield together, not Gotoh. All Gotoh did was re-assemble the Starsphere.
